I'm seeing Weird Al's tour in Michigan specifically so I can avoid the conflict, or at least split Knocked Loose and Blink
Dance Hall Crasher's IG story post with the line-up soft confirms that they'll be on the same stage set as Green Day, Bad Religion, and Jawbreaker as we're all thinking. So that's dope! Anyway... LOL
I saw it at a smaller stage at our state fair last year (lol). It was fun! I didn’t recognize anyone else and they didn’t make a point to make it seem like anyone besides Marky was from any notable bands. They basically got on stage, ripped through as many songs as they could in 45 minutes and that was it. Nothing too special, but if you’re a Ramones fan I’d say it’s worth checking out if there’s no one else you wanna see during their set. That said, after seeing it once I’ll probably skip it if there’s someone else I’m interested in at the same time haha.
well it's official, booked my flight & hotel today. first time back since 2017. already panicking about the friday overlaps.
I can’t remember if you’re a Thursday fan but the end of “Turnpike Divides” is just straight up lifted from a Shudder To Think song.
I felt personally targeted by that tweet. I really can't underscore enough how much that Sunday line-up is giving me life... And how much I want to go back and tell my teenage self about what I'm going to get to see. Haha.
They're pretty good live still! They sound good and have plenty of energy (albeit said-energy is pretty "stationary" given the age). The original singer passed a few years back, so it's their old bass player on leads now who sounds pretty good; a bit different but close enough. Not sure I'll be watching them at Riot because we caught them last year but... If nothing else is happening I'll definitely be watching again.
From today's RF email: So it looks like we'll be getting aftershows earlier this year as well! New merch and VIP contests were expected but... I'm intrigued by what the "few more aanniversary surprises" might entail. Use of the word "weeks" instead of "months" makes me think we'll have a bunch more info by end of June!
New run of Bouncing Souls/H2O tour dates has the date after Riot Fest blanked out. We already kinda parsed this out but I think this makes a Sunday after show a lock given the poster they previously shared. Maybe not for both but definitely the Souls.
because they already bought a deluxe pass and werent able to return it. i make that joke becaue ive seen them out and about in the crowd at least 2 or 3 different years
I’d be shocked if they didn’t make a guest appearance with someone over the weekend, but they should absolutely get their own set too.
Riot Fest hates ska. I'm half-joking but... If you averaged it out I bet you'd come out to fewer than one ska band per year on-average since 2012. Hah. Fingers-crossed JER at least lands an aftershow or hops on-stage with DHC to add horns to some earlier tracks or something. They've also popped on-stage with Militarie Gun once or twice which would also be dope/weird to see. EDIT: I did some quick math and checking old posters. Quite a bit more bands than I expected but... With the exception of the Interrupters, Sitting On Stacy, Streetlight Manifesto, and Catbite they all formed prior to 2010. LOL
