Riot Fest 2025 Tour • Page 39

  1. They played once when it was indoors, I think. I’ve had them on my “pretty likely” list for a while.

I fully missed them on that 2010 poster! I keep missing shit this week... At any rate, this feels like it could be the year for them. Finally.

Also just noticed that the Bouncing Souls/H2O tour is going to have a second leg announced for later this year. The routing on that tour makes it hard to predict exactly where the next leg will hit up because it's a mix of markets across the country. But there's some fairly obvious metro areas missing (including Chicago).

Man, if I get to see Green Day, the Bouncing Souls, Alkaline Trio, Propagandhi, and H2O in the same weekend...

I could totally see that Souls/H2O tour hitting Riot. It would be cool to have that the same day Blink and Alk 3 play

When leaving the park, does everyone usually walk to the California pink line?

  5. I always walk to Kedzie, though I park at the west end of the Pink line.

Yeah the Souls are overdue for their return. I'm hoping HWM and Flatliners play too in that case

Always walk to Kedzie. Trains at Kedzie always have a good amount of free space when they arrive, even at the end of the night. Trains at California do not.

EDIT: Also, the church tacos near Kedzie are bomb.

Checking out some of the Coachella sets this week got me thinking...

With the line-up drop happening ~1 month earlier this year shit must be really locked in. Makes me wonder if in year's past it may have had something to do with the city, park permits, and so on? Like, not wanting to announce before that preliminary meeting or whatever. I'm probably butchering that or misremembering it... But I recall them having a meeting around that in early May in past years. Anyway. Maybe we see earlier line-up drops in future years because of the multi-year deal?

Then there's the Coachella of it all with GV probably not letting artists make major announcements while that's going on. Green Day is obviously the standout but... The Prodigy and the Go-Go's are two other bigger names that would make a ton of sense to hold things for! Especially with the Prodigy being one of the bigger band names/logos from the teaser.

I keep waffling back and forth as to whether or not Green Day could be "in" for this year but the cards seem to be stacking in that direction.

Random aside: Green Day busted out "Knowledge" tonight for the first time in a while and did 75% of it just like the original before pivoting to their swingy cover version. Means nothing but it was just really cool to see after seeing them cover that song like, 15+ times over the years. LOL

I just hope one, if any, of those artists they might be waiting for Coachella to end isn’t The Misfits. They just played and as much as I love them I don’t need that again for a while.

Ya know this is gonna be a very unpopular opinion but I wouldn’t hate the misfits again. I’d prefer pretty much anyone else but i waited my whole life for that reunion and just seeing them still gets me excited.

Money motivated? Yes. Phoned in? Yes. Terrible live? Yes.

yet, I can’t get enough of it. I’d be bummed if it was them and would be let down, but like I’d still watch it.

I think we’re overthinking the whole “waiting for Coachella to end to announce” thought process. Plenty of Coachella artists are announced for other festivals already including the headliners (besides Gaga).

I'm on the same page here! I wouldn't hate it considering I had to leave halfway through their set last time... And they're yet to book a date anywhere near me. I'd definitely make it a point to see them again but... I kinda feel like my hype wouldn't be half what it could be for some of the other options that are in-play.

But I'm also not really thinking they're in the mix just because of how recently they've played. The same headliner three times in less than 10 years would probably impact ticket sales.

I mean, Green Day's already got US festival dates announced post-Coachella. For me it's more about announcing in-between the two festival weeks... The timing just feels very convenient for me.

Doesn't mean any of those artists are a lock by any means. But it's still worth taking into account for speculation.

Time to start hoping some news outlet messes up and posts headliners early and paying attention to the Q101 socials for the inevitable Riot Mike/pre line-up interview that may or may not provide interesting things.

Fun fact: I have therapy at 11 AM EST on Wednesday and I texted my therapist if I we could push it back to 11:05 so I'm not thinking about the Riot Fest lineup the entire time lmao

Any last-minute predictions? Any wild guesses before Wednesday?

I sent home grown a dm on ig just saying “Show announcement this week? Hopefully Midwest? Maybe on Wednesday?!” and they liked it. So take that for what it is.

Love this energy! I plan on being 5 minutes late to a standing meeting that I've got at work for very much the same reason. Under the guise of needing a "bio break."

Feels like a typical "we can't say just yet but... yes" response from a band. Not a lock but definitely makes me feel like they're pretty likely!

Easier to ignore and better to just say "No, sorry" if they've got the DM up anyway. Hah.

A recent Ataris IG post said they have a new 7" getting announced soon... As well as "several other really big announcements in the upcoming days."

Guessing they'll be doing a tour around the new album, and they're on AfterShock in October so maybe Riot will be one of those 'really big announcements'?

It feels a little weird not having to go through a few weeks wondering if it will finally be the week that we get a lineup.

It feels kind of nice though… like we usually have more locks by the time they announce but it’s so soon and up in the air this year.

Yeah it feels more exciting that we’re two days away and only have a few locks. This is gonna feel like Christmas
