    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

What do we have so far in terms of “possible locks?”

Off the top of my head:

    Weird Al
    Rilo Kiley
    Superchunk
    Blink 182
    Alkaline Trio
    Sparks

TBH, if Banner Pilot were a Red Scare band at any point I'd be saying it's a possibility. But I'd put my money on something like that happening at Fest over Riot, if I'm being real about it.

Fingers crossed for it, though! BP is so underrated.

I think Sex Pistols and Green Day were part of those first two clues.. they mentioned two reunions, I'm guessing that was the Pogues and Sex Pistols (could be more)

Honestly, looking at this chunk of bands is making me feel more and more like I'm going to bite the bullet and commit to going very quickly this year.

After I book my Stoked for the Summer trip tonight I think I'm gonna look into booking a refundable hotel and warning my partner that I'll probably be going with/without her. Just to lock it down.

I'm not sure it would be very responsible of me to miss an opportunity to see Green Day, Blink-182, Alkaline Trio, Superchunk, and the G.O.A.T. of musical comedy all in the same weekend.

Ooh, someone else has Julien Baker and Torres as possibly playing. I would have said not the vibe a few years ago but after Waxahatchee played last year with similar(ish) sounding music I think it’s quite possible. Plus they are playing everywhere but still have no Chicago date and are on Bourbon and Beyond in September so will still be active.

On another note, Wilco would probably subheadline? They are still pretty big especially in their hometown and would probably get the hometown bump on the lineup.

Julien is full-band now, right? To me that would make all the difference as far as the "vibe" goes. I'd also assume she's playing much later in the day at this point which would also be a shift working in their favor.

I could see Wilco playing whatever day LCD plays if they’re on

This is a new project with the musician Torres, they have an album out next week. It’s country but maybe more on the Americana side.

I also don’t think Julien Baker/Torres would be that weird for Riot. I could ultimately see Riot picking up the slack of Pitchfork being done and booking more indie bands like that in the future

LCD Sound System with Rilo Kiley and Wilco feels pretty appropriate!

EDIT: Or swap out Wilco for Julien Baker & Torres?

I am all for more indie acts playing Riot especially since Pitchfork is done but sitting on the grass listening to Father John Misty at Riot I kept falling asleep because his music does nothing to me…and then I saw him again at Northerly Island because I won free tickets and I had a similar experience lol

That being said, if he ever plays Riot again I would be open to giving him another chance.

Well first of all if you fell asleep during his Riot set that's on you (I kid), that set rocked! Up there with my favorite sets of all time.

But the Northerly Island show was my least favorite show I've seen him do - the rain & low attendance really killed the energy, so definitely don't base anything off of that.

Throwing this out there, but maybe Tomahawk is a possibility?

They were supposed to do a mini tour this spring but it got scrapped because of Sick New World getting cancelled. But John Stainer posted a video of himself playing Mayday yesterday appearing to be teasing something?

Riot’s booked FNM and Bungle before, so they’d be a cool get. I could see them playing a day if Deftones headlines

$30 increase for the final presale today from $249 to $279.

im guessing staring price in 2 weeks for the general on sale will be $300

I stopped paying for riot fest tickets like 4 years ago and have only missed one since then. Won 2 of their contests and then last year got the email like 2 days before the fest where they were just giving tickets out.

$300 for a 3-day GA pass is honestly still really, really solid.

EDIT: Like, that's still cheaper than most decent Blink-182 tickets on that current tour. LOL

Thank god. Their set in 2023 was the most pretentious bullshit, and I like their albums!!!

Knowing that DK is out makes me really happy. Fuck those dudes.

Now, do the right thing and book Jello for a full DK set!

The Sound Of Animals Fighting announced a tour that starts shortly after Riot with no Chicago date. They might be possible?
