Working relationship with riot fest plus it’s the 20 year anniversary. Not like blink are hurting for money.
They have a "working relationship" with the entire industry, and their rate is their rate. They are not taking less so their rival band – friendly, but still rivals, in Mark's book – can also play. They might both play, but blink will not be taking a discount to make it happen.
I don’t either need to take a discount to make it happen. They had The Cure and Foo Fighters in 2023 and I would put some money on them being pretty close to the same price as Blink and Green Day would be.
Are we all also forgetting they got MCR on their first reunion tour, Misfits playing Walk Among Us, and NIN in the same year? Riot Fest can afford any headliner(s) they want. If they wanted Blink & Green Day in the same year, they could do it. And if they couldn’t do it, they’d raise ticket prices. Or get rid of the small stage and have fewer artists at the bottom of the bill. Or spend less money on carnival rides and butter statues and fake buildings. The one thing they wouldn’t do is let money get in the way of booking 2 massive headliners who are willing to play
this is exactly it. Green Day and blink play all sorts of mid tier festivals that aren’t as big as riot. There’s sometimes a reason things don’t work out and that’s why I’m assuming Green Day hasn’t played yet.
So we're assuming that Blink and Alk3 are gonna be on Friday, right? The rest of the routing has 1-2 days in a row max. That would give them a day off between the 9/16 and 9/17 dates, then a day between the 9/21 and 9/22 dates.
They just posted about the app and getting the lineup. Again, I know it means little to nothing. But, it just makes it feel closer!
Honestly, them posting about the app and line-up makes me think it'll be just a smidge earlier this year (early May instead of mid-May).
Mac DeMarco announced a tour hitting many of the usual major cities (NYC, Philly, LA, Boston, Seattle, etc.) in September with no Chicago. There’s no Midwest dates at all but Riot Fest weekend is open between a gap between Boston and Berkeley, California. Mac DeMarco Teases New Album, Announces 2025 Tour Dates Edit: Oops, only Friday is open so probably unlikely.
Seems like a tricky one to pull off (he’d have to fly to Berkeley immediately after playing), but I could also easily see Mac playing Riot
