That line-up is really strong! Definitely going to be a slump in attendance from Saturday to Sunday but still. Saturday has a lot of "eh, whatever" for me but between Blink, Jimmy, Set Your Goals, Home Grown, and Charly Bliss it's still a home run. Sunday is the real winner for me, though. Seeing a pair of Gilman bands together headlining a fest like that is fun. And the support is pretty strong for me too: Alk3, Face to Face, the Wonder Years, Drug Church, Koyo, Sincere Engineer, and Like Roses are awesome.
Damn top tier lineup, I'm annoyed its the week before Riot but I definitely assume there will be a lot of crossover
I have been daydreaming about the same thing! Though mine leans a little more toward "Gilman" rather than being NorCal-centered... Green Day with A.F.I., Jawbreaker, Jello & Whatever Project He's Doing Right Now, Samiam, and Grumpster (or Omnigone as a nod to Link 80) Pansy Division would be pretty fun too!
Yeah, realistically, I'm going to do Riot so I can't make Four Chord happen too but that's easily the best lineup that they've ever done.
Rancid was the alternate for AFI, hah! My thought process is that Rancid toured heavily last year so they're probably taking a beat to record this year... And we know AFI will have an album out in the fall. Either way, though, it would be a sick line-up!
Look, man. I need to buy a new car and am in the process of saving for/planning a wedding. Don't put these ideas into my head again. LOL
With Wolves turning 30 this year I kinda assumed Rancid would play and do the same slot offspring did last year. Putting them in that slot before Green Day would be perfect
Congrats! but why save and plan when you can just get Married at Riot Fest the same day as seeing Operation Ivy!
First, thanks! Second... The honest answer to that says way more about me than it does my fiancee. "No, because I don't want you stressing out and getting distracted during the ceremony because you're missing like, 5 minutes of Jeff Rosenstock or whatever." Joke's on her! Jeff is OUT! Seriously though. We discussed it and opted for something else. That said, I'm pretty sure we're doing our courthouse stuff on June 1st so we can make it official... And then see Catbite on the same day. So. That's sorta like that? LOL
Could Shonen Knife be possible? US tour announced today. No Chicago date and the have Riot Friday open before the tour starts in Buffalo
Thanks! Your friend Paul has good taste. Seems plausible to me. Would be a great early day "get" and would pair well with any number of punk, pop-punk, or garage/indie bands. Super underrated band, TBH!
