Probably more likely Lolla but Phantogram would be awesome too!

I think last year they played just before Riot Fest and there were tons of people at RF with their merch

Deftones / Bring Me the Horizon would make for an absolutely fucking sick metal day

  5. Is Sleep Token big enough to headline? Or co-headline with Deftones or BMTH?

In other heavy bands, I really hope we get Knocked Loose this year.

Sleep token is playing all state so they are out unfortunately.

If they where in play I could see them being before a headliner but not the headliner

  7. Ah I missed that in the leaked dates.

They have a song called “Summer in Siam” and a lyric in one of their songs is “rivers of gold”

The Pogues definitely seem like a lock based on this. And I'm really enjoying some of the creative takes on other parts of the post that are feel like stretches but are clever to read. Haha.

The cognitive leap from "you can suck it" to that D-Generation X wrestling thing to D-Generation or Generation X reunions is pretty clever. Unlikely but a clever take, regardless.

The Roots, Beck, Lenny Kravitz, UB40, and Ray LaMontagne all announced for Ravinia

Shudder To Think are playing a surprise reunion show in LA today. Not sure if they have more in the books since it’s billed as a “friends and family show,” but I could see Riot getting them as a reunion band, if they end up playing more shows

Just saw Girl in Red and she would be a fun act for Riot

Update: According to someone on Reddit that was in attendance at the show, they announced that more shows and new music are in the works.

So, I wouldn’t call it lock, or 100% likely. But it could be possible they do Riot

finally went to my first show of the year last night and saw the Boreouts (j navarro of suicide machines side band) & the dollyrots. both could be fun early in the day acts.

The Pogues just announced a Boston show on 9/7. Part of a bigger outdoor two-day festival. Dropkick Murphys headlining day #1 with the Pogues on day #2. In case folks were curious as to where the Pogues might get placed...

Definitely not a lock but... If they're going to do a bigger, US-based festival... Riot's really the only option. Hah! So it definitely puts them in the mix.

    Phew. Bullet. Dodged.

Loving the Boreouts stuff! I get the sense that it's very much a "side-project" thing, though, and they won't do too much... Could see the Dollyrots though, and am honestly a little surprised they've never played now that I think about it.

dollyrots headlined, but i think i much preferred the boreouts! 3 singers each with a different style made their show more varied touching on a lot of different styles and a lot of high energy, where the dollyrots are fun and quirky, but kinda one-note

I could also see Stiff Little Fingers playing. They said they have more US dates. And they played one of the first Riot Fests, so it would make sense to have them there for the anniversary.

BabyMetal is out. Chicago on 7/8. However...

311 is still up in the air, I think! The Unity Tour runs from 6/20 through 8/31 with a Rockford, IL date on July 6th. Technically possible based on the radius but I think them touring for ~2 months straight makes it seem less likely.

Then again, there's some glaring "major city" omissions on the eastern seaboard that makes me wonder if a shorter fall tour might get announced for September and/or October (similar to what they do in the spring) that could also include a festival.

It's SO weird that tour has glaring omissions in the Midwest, like Michigan and Chicago proper. Badflower had to drop a local fest in Lansing as a headliner I'm assuming because of this, but it's not even coming to Michigan?
