I attended from 2017 to 2023. I skipped 2024 as I went to When We Were Young instead, and hopefully I can return in 2025. I have done aftershows almost every year. 2017 - Cap'n Jazz 2018 - Spitalfield, State Champ and Aaron West w/ Beach Bunny 2019 - Pvris and TBS w/ The Get Up Kids 2022 - Alexisonfire and Sunny Day Real Estate with @ItsAndrew 2023 - Thursday with @KindaFatMike
Riot posted this and a friend pointed out that the clock hands are pointing to R E and M. Dont think it will hapoen, but that tease...
Obviously the real thing would be better, but Michael Shannon’s REM cover band would be a fun Riot set.
I’ve been to Riot 8 times. A few more than I thought but… 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2022, and 2024!
If Riot got REM then Huston Powell (booker for Lolla) is gonna be pissed lol, they are his white whale get
I feel like there is no way that REM is reuniting. But if they aren’t playing Riot, that picture was really not well thought out. Because we will now have about two months of people thinking REM is going to play.
You can say that means "R.E.M." all you want. But the hour hand is on the "6" and the minutes hand is on the "9." 69. Gronk is headlining.
The only way I see them playing is as part of a full tour where Riot is the Chicago stop. I don’t see Chicago being their first show back or their only show.
Been to every Chicago riot since 2015. Went to Lolla in 13 & 14 (which were both incredible, saw some insane stuff) but in 14 had riot fomo and decided to switch it up in 15 and never looked back.
Lolla is a fun time, but the lineups haven’t fully captivated me in a number of years. Riot is the more interesting of the two festivals for me. Pitchfork was the one that was most interesting to me, but now that it’s done it’s likely Riot from here on out unless Lolla comes out with banger lineups or has a can’t miss artist for me.
Been to every Riot every year since 09. I had to miss Friday of 2019 for a wedding(they’re now divorced).
