I'd tend to agree that we'd get one or the other. This is where the Louder Than Life line-up could really help...
It's missing some key ingredients but... Isn't Shaky Knees always like this? I think the headliners are skewing everybody's perception of the line-up this time around. Haha.
The Story So Far, Neck Deep, State Champs, Drain, Scowl, Spiritbox, PVRIS, Hatebreed, Story of the Year, Insane Clown Posse, Dillinger Escape Plan, Bring Me the Horizon, Knocked Loose, Testament all seem like possibilities (based on a first glance)
On one hand, Green Day played LTL in 2023 so maybe it is too soon to be back. But A7X played 2023 as well and they are playing again.
PVRIS Is opening for linkin park in August so I’m guessing they are out based on that but stranger things have happened
They've been doing limited engagements due to Violent J's health for a few years now, but it might be getting to farewell at this point.
would gladly take any of the following: deftones, kittie, sleep token static-x, municipal waste, alestorm, drain, scowl, DEP, glassjaw, wargasm, spiritbox, dragonforce, stabbing westward, dying wish 14 year old me would be losing his mind for the nu-metal D-squad of RA, union underground, & spineshank
Shaky Knees and LTL have pretty good lineups. I really hope Riot has a good one as well and not being the weaker of the 3, specially being their 20th anniversary So far I would be more inclined to go to Shaky Knees, but still holding for Riot
only day deftones could play riot would be sunday. also not much cross over between ltl and shaky knees on first glace its like 5 bands
Deftones is starting to make a lot of sense actually. They'd be a good offset if we did have say, Green Day, and blink both headlining. I could see something like: Green Day - blink-182 - Deftones. I mean I would go from Atlanta -> Kentucky -> Chicago in a weekend for that kind of pay day. I also think BMTH is in play. I won't buy into Vampire Weekend until I see with my own eyes that they're not on the Lolla lineup.
From Weird Al tour he has a TBA on Friday, so hopefully he is at Riot! https://www.reddit.com/media?url=ht...bp&s=dfa22ff10c8e897d70d70559771c451950fe7394
And the Cure played the United Center in June when they played Riot. Exceptions can be made. I had assumed he would be out when that show first got announced. But between the TBA date and the clue Riot Fest gave, I feel pretty confident that he is playing.
based on his tour routing he could also play a 2nd chicagoland show on sept 11th which is also a tba date
