would imagine it has to be the 19th, its not on the poster but they also have a fest gig in st. augustine FL on the 21st
See, this is why the Shaky Knees line-up will be helpful! If they aren't on that then we can safely say they're probably in for Riot (and even nail down a likely day).
Just realized that, even with the Less Than Jake tour, Catbite still doesn't have any Chicago dates this year. Wonder if the fest invited them back for a "proper" set this year. EDIT: Nevermind. They announced a tour like, five minutes after I posted this that has them playing Cobra Lounge on 5/16. They are very likely out. LOL
Has Knocked Loose played in recent years? I don’t think so, and they would be a good get this year. This is an indication they will at least be touring fall 2025.
Well, this explains the 9/21 TBA date for "Weird Al" Yankovic. He's still got that 9/19 date on the schedule...
Not sure anything else on the Shaky Knees line-up really stands out to me as far as what might lead to Riot. Really rad line-up though. 3-4 bands I'd be really stoked on each day. Man, I really wish Boston Calling had stuck with booking artists like this more consistently... I did notice that Vampire Weekend tour dates list both 9/20 and 9/21 so maybe they're doing an aftershow which would probably rule them out for Riot? Could also just be a weird poster thing as sometimes happens with festival dates.
I think they have another fest in VA on Saturday and Shaky Knees Sunday. They could conceivably do Riot Friday but it seems less likely to me now. Kind of a bummer since Rilo Kiley into VW would be a good night. But if we get Blink and Weird Al closing stages on Friday, that’s at least an easy decision for me.
By the look of the poster design, the post saying “welcome to a new era,” and the change of dates it seems that SK might be looking to be direct competitors with RF. Crazy lineup. Also, I hope this doesn’t ruin chances for TVOTR
Shaky Knees always seems like the "slightly left-of-center" rock acts that major festivals booked... All on the same festival. Like, if you took the 3-4 "edgier" rock acts booked by Boston Calling, Lolla, Coachella, and Bonnaroo and booked them all on the same festival. This is a feature from my perspective. Definitely not a bug. Line-ups for SK are consistently awesome (but never quite enough to get me there instead of Riot or any of the other more punk-leaning fests).
Also, of that lineup who I think could be in play for Riot: Vampire Weekend (less likely but Friday is open), Idles (finally?), Lambrini Girls, TV on the Radio, Johnny Marr, Bilmuri, Fat Dog, Wet Leg, Franz Ferdinand, Murder by Death, English Teacher, Scowl, Fleshwater
