Vampire Weekend did two nights at Northerly Island last summer with the lawn open and both nights were packed (I only went to one night but based on the pictures I saw). Capacity with the lawn open there is 30,000 so they were pulling somewhere near 60,000 people (I don’t know the exact number)

They could play Lolla again but they’ll be billed in a 5-8 spot and would get the sole headliner of the day bump at Riot Fest, plus being at Bourbon and Beyond around the same time has me thinking it’s Vampire Weekend and Green Day as two of the headliners.

TBK would probably be a sub-headliner or co-headliner

Father John Misty is likely out. He’s announcing “July 2025” shows next week and Chicago is on the list

Hope it's because he's headlining in Chicago and now that the "July" dates spill over into the first weekend of Lolla. Not that I wouldn't love to see him at Lolla but I need a full set

I feel like Dropkick Murphys and Bad Religion tour skipping Chicago puts them in the “very likely” category…

People thought dropkick would play last year and they didn’t. They haven’t had a proper Chicago show since the radius show in 2022. Every single tour has skipped Chicago since then. It’s getting annoying so they better be on riot.

I am begging people (not on here, on other places like Facebook and Reddit as I just saw a mock posted on Facebook with them listed fifth on their day lmao) to stop incorrectly billing Paramore as anything other than the #1 headliner of their day. It is 2025, not 2017 when they last played and were billed lower. Things change over time and that includes Paramore's popularity.

Even then, they were billed 2nd on their day and the dude put them like 5th. If it’s a dream lineup that’s one thing but there’s nothing realistic about them being where they were. I think people should always just temper expectations.

I saw that same mock and continue to roll my eyes at people who clearly don't like Riot Fest so much as... They just want Danny Wimmer to book like, 2-3 indie acts and a few more punk acts each day rather just the single stage on one day.

As for Paramore: They would definitely be a #1 headliner in most scenarios. I could see a scenario where they are listed on the same line as the headliner and they close out the stage next to main just before the headliner but it would have to be pretty special, I'd think (e.g., No Doubt).

Metallica on that mock multiple days was funny, think they are a liiiiiitle too big for Riot

Especially for a bonus day. Also, I thought everyone understood by now that the one Thursday night was only because of covid. It has been three years without that now.

Supergrass is out. Playing the Riviera Theater on 9/9. Not related to the below. Just trying not to double-post. LOL

I think this person just really wants Danny Wimmer to book like, Guttermouth and Less Than Jake more than they want Metallica at Riot. :crylaugh: And those festivals tend to do the Thursday dates.

NGL, though, that Thursday show was super fun the year they did that. It was nice having an unclogged day/evening on the festival grounds to get the lay of the land. It certainly helped that two of my favorites (Alkaline Trio and Joyce Manor) were on the bill too but... It would have been fun, regardless.
