I feel like Yo La Tengo could be in play this year. They’ve announced two short runs so far for this year and neither of them hit the Chicago area (or nearby)

I think Julien Baker and Torres could play…I mean Waxahatchee played last year. Plus Julien could come out for other sets depending on who is playing.

Really hoping The Hold Steady shows up this year. They've been pretty high on my wishlist the last few years.

Sturgill would be fun and (I think) a pretty good fit. He might be too big at the moment though, because I don't foresee any country/Americana act other than Willie Nelson or Dolly Parton ever being in the conversation for headliner at RF.

Other fun afternoon acts that I wouldn't mind seeing but honestly may not be a great fit:
    - Lake Street Dive
    - Sammy Rae and the Friends
    - Trombone Shorty

Fountains Of Wayne are reuniting this year. They were announced for SummerFest today. They’d be a cool reunion for Riot

Green Day, Lenny Kravitz, Cake, Fountains of Wayne, Vampire Weekend, Good Charlotte, Modest Mouse, Jack's Mannequin, Weezer, Michelle Branch, Ziggy Marley all seem like potential locks

Everyone is going to be talking about how this puts Green Day very much in play (which…it’s about time), but it also definitely puts Vampire Weekend in play for the “indie” day if they do that again like they did last year.

Assuming an “indie” day happens, there’s plenty of acts in the area for it. Modest Mouse and Franz Ferdinand on this lineup, The Hold Steady, TV on the Radio, Rilo Kiley and Julien Baker/Torres on Bourbon and Beyond (who are already playing one show together in addition to both being on Bourbon), etc.

I’d add The Black Keys to that list, assuming they aren’t on Lolla

In regards to the indie bands we’ve mentioned, where would they sit on a lineup?

Normally I would say either Black Keys or Vampire Weekend would be the number one for their day but with VW I’ve seen them second on some lineups for fests that are pretty comparable to RF and Black Keys just had to cancel a big tour for, what I assume, is poor ticket sales…

  25. Vampire Weekend headlines for sure. Black Keys, I don’t know. I’d guess they would be paired with someone else on the top line like Beck/Pavement were.
