Thinking through what this could be if it's hints for a bunch of bands... Anybody else remember the year Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg was going to play with the Bouncing Souls as his backing band and Andrew W.K. on vocals?

 

Is Weird Al headliner-level or second to last?

 

I could see him as a sub-headliner or co-headliner

 

I'd peg him as a sub. But probably closing out whatever stage he's on.

 

Replacements instantly came to mind based clue #3.

 

I knew what I was doing. But I didn't think it would be you to take me down.

 

Another thought about the hint that's less exciting and arguably less likely: Given the success of that OpIvy set last year they could maybe do a round of similar sets.

Like, yeah, maybe they get that Sex Pistols reunion. Maybe Iggy Pop too? But they could have other bands doing Ramones, Dead Kennedys, Replacements, etc.

The thing that keeps tripping me up is the Replacements. Because I don't think there's any chance they actually play.

I think so. I think I saw someone on facebook or reddit say Holiday means Green Day, since I guess that person has never heard Holiday in Cambodia.

 

Seems based off the clues and all three appearing on a festival in South America, I think? Probably nothing... I'm guessing the Sex Pistols "reunion" is going to milk the festivals this year, then do a headliner in bigger clubs/theaters in 2026.

 

Well, this is gonna confuse some people. Especially with the price increase today and the word "hours" not being on there.

There's a 0% chance it drops today, but that's what at least one or two people in the comments are already speculating. LOL

 

could be either a few hours from now (6 hours), or on Thursday (6 days). intrigue - it gets the people going!

 

Thursday (the band) CONFIRMED

 

I'm leaning more toward it's just them fucking with people. Haha. Randomly dropping it on a Friday with no teasing the night before isn't anything they've ever done. This would be the furthest deviation from their schedule and previous activities than they've had in the past. LOL

Earliest it's dropped previously was in like April for the 2017 announcement. But even that got a "pay attention tomorrow" style tweet the night before, if I recall.

 

New Valentine's Day merch bundle just dropped.

 

ive only been exposed to her via tiny desk and the grammys but, holy shit, riot fest should book Doechii. im sure lolla is a more likely destination, but a riot crowd would go bonkers for her energy

 

Black Keys dates dropped today. No midwest dates and another leg will be announced… Maybe in play?

 

i think something definitely coming on Thursday (6 days from when riot posted that) because Camp Punksylvania is dropping their first wave of line up on thursday as well... makes me think a relatively big name is announcing a tour and wants to announce all at once so participating fests must oblige.

 

Interesting! It would be wildly early for Riot. So unless it was somebody on the smaller side but really special? I can't think of who it might be... The two fests definitely have overlap but given the size of Camp Punksylvania I wouldnt' expect it to be a major announcement, y'know?

I'm gonna double-down and assume that was just them messing with people. Haha. But, per usual, would love to be wrong!

 

Interesting - no Chicago area date on the Outlaw tour, and the routing puts them in the midwest in September. The lineup for that last leg is Willie Nelson & Family, Bob Dylan, Sheryl Crow, Waxahatchee, Madeline Edwards. Not expecting a Waxahatchee repeat but Willie, Dylan, or Sheryl Crow would all be really great.

Edit: Unless Sacred Rose is coming back, or something similar.

 

Riot would 100% book Willie Nelson. These dates drop off him right off in Chicago.

 

Interesting observation! I could actually see Willie at Riot. As for the rest of the lineup, maybe this is the year Wilco comes back?
