Lot of people on Reddit don’t seem happy about the possibility of a new location

 

It's true. They are moving from Douglass Park to Douglas Park.

 

But for reals, if they are trolling and they are staying there it's a fucked up thing to do, stressing people out like that. It's not even "funny" trolling, it's just being a dick.

Well so much for a fun teaser video. Instead we get to speculate whether it's actually at Douglass Park or not. Lol.

I have a physical ticket that says "Douglass Park" on it, it sounds like something major happened for them to move out of there like this out of nowhere. And even if they do move, why wait to announce it so close to the lineup? People need to know about something like that ASAP. People booked places to stay at close to the park, some of them could have cancelled and might have missed the refund window.

 

Not sure what to make of the "So perhaps for one last time..." bit in the letter either. Mike is out (or retiring) after this year? Maybe the last Riot Fest if this move really was last minute and the new place isn't a long-term solution?

If they were staying at Douglass this year and this move was for next year I would think they would wait until after the fest to announce that.

 

I think the next 16 hours are gonna be a roller coaster.

That Reddit thread is a mess of optimism, pessimism, and people saying “I told you so” as if they haven’t been saying it’ll be out of Douglass every year for the last few years. LOL

 

The negativity towards the park district can’t be fake. The agency wouldn’t play along.

What they’re hinting at here feels like a similar thing. At least similar to what a bunch of people on here were speculating it might be.

My harebrained idea is that they figured out a way to do it at one of the abandoned shopping malls in the suburbs.
