Don’t remember if they were already considered out or not, but Interpol is def out. Chicago Antics album play in November with deafhaven
Interpol/Deafheaven is a weird combo. But super cool to see Trail Of Dead is playing a show again. Party like it’s 2002, baby!
Okay I do not keep up with Deafheaven and only know that Sunbather album but a combo of them and Interpol is something I never would have imagined.
On vacation and there's a non-zero chance I won't have service tomorrow during the lineup, which adds an extra layer of excitement to it all
Why are people (not on here to be clear) suggesting that like, Slipknot and System of a Down are playing in addition to Slayer? Obviously Slipknot has Knotfest in Iowa the same weekend (although they are ruled out from having other commitments at Knotfest) but Riot has never had three headliners in the exact same genre before. Then you mention that and peoples response is "but they are all different", which sure if you get into semantics, yes, but broadly speaking they are all metal and Riot always diversifies their headliners to not just appeal to one music demographic.
Because those people actually just want yet another metal festival I guess. The billion that already exist aren’t enough.
So the lineup is the first announcement from what that is suggesting. Interested to see what the second announcement is tomorrow, though I'm expecting album plays.
I think flogging Molly is a lock. They just announced a Midwest tour that starts the week after riot fest and there's no Chicago dates
I feel like this has to mean either Drunk in Public/NOFX collaboration or album play announcement is the 11:00am… I mean, could still be wrong but it makes me think it’s more likely now.
FOB just announced some shows in Mexico after Riot, so it makes sense to me for them to play Riot during the weekend and then fly over for those shows
thats double sad after also just hearing The Selector announce that their male vocalist Arthut 'Gaps' Hendrickson just passed away. awful stuff.
Was just coming in here to share this. From the looks of the IG post that announcement doesn't seem to have anything to do with Chicago, though?
Nice I've been waiting for updates for the LA nofx shows. A few missing openers and album plays yet to be announced
