Im still surprised their reunion show will be at Riot and not at a metal festival or an arena in California
They are playing a metal festival in California like 2 weeks after Riot.. one is just taking place before the other
My second cousin works for Riot, like high up the food chain, which I am pretty sure I have mentioned here before when some of his Facebook comments were posted here, and it's taking all of me not to hit him up and ask who is headlining this year or at least when the lineup is coming out lol
You've mentioned it before and I always forget! I mean, look. You can always find out and let us know who isn't playing or when it's not coming out.
Just listened for the first time to the new Glass Beach album that dropped earlier this year. They’d be a solid afternoon set for RF.
Would Massive Attack headline if they played? (idk if they would play, I don’t know them that well, but they seem like a Riot band) Watch Massive Attack bring out Elizabeth Fraser to sing "Song to the Siren" & more at their first show in 5 years (video)
Looks like they're doing a few festivals over in Europe. And at a glance they're at the top of the poster with other bands that would be a smaller/weaker Riot headliner (Queens of the Stone Age) or who would probably be second or third on their day (St. Vincent, Pulp). And I'd imagine they're bigger overseas there. The US tour in 2018 looked to be in venues that were 3-5k. So I think they're in that weird category where they could headline with the right gap between US tours and/or hype... But the other two would need to be pretty strong? On the right year with the right hype and gap between US tours? Then again, I'm also not sure how much people really care about seeing them live in 2024 this side of the ocean so... I dunno. Probably not in 2024? Could be very wrong though. This isn't my wheelhouse.
EDIT: Looks like Tuesday, 6/11 at 7pm is teasing then two announcements on Wednesday at 10am and 11am.
Going to be a long wait until Tuesday. But at least we won’t have to see more posts about it being cancelled. Edit: I missed the eve part. So an even worse wait!
Kinda fun that they're doing some sort of teasing in the evening rather than mid-day like they usually do... But I'm wondering why they're doing two distinct announcements on Wednesday. Makes me wonder if it actually is a single artist holding things up because they've got something to announce or whatever.
Maybe they are doing like last year and announcing part of it on the radio and then the rest an hour later?
They took the 3 day passes off sale. Wonder how much of a jump they will be when the go back on sale next week
Great. Now I need to start following Q101 again... Gonna be keeping a close eye out on any major artists teasing announcements, tours, and so on over the next few days. I feel like it has to be timed with something.
My guess is the "eve" announcement is some sort of teaser guessing game with hints, and then the two announcements on Wednesday are the lineup.
