Thurston Moore tour is being announced soon. It’s been since 2015 (I think?) he’s played. If Pavement plays, he’d be a great pairing for whatever stage they end up on
It's come out at the very end of May in some previous years, and the festival is a week later this year than normal. With that in mind, I wouldn't call early June a "delay".
I always love people thinking that a random clashfinder is a leaked lineup. Especially when the title says that it is a mock or fantasy. At least seeing that gave me a good chuckle this morning.
this is the one being questioned in the FB group today.. but i dont remember if this its the same one someone else tried to post as 'a leak' a few weeks ago that was also obviously just someone's mock... seen so many they blend together. Riot Fest 2024 Line-Up :: Clashfinder
That is obviously fake but it’s a solid mock. Ratboys are playing a show in Chicago the day after Thanksgiving so that puts them as out, and Death From Above 1979 just announced a show at Metro.

It must be annoying for them to read that Reddit sometimes. Some people on there and Facebook seem to be in straight up meltdown mode. If it really isn’t coming out until June, then it is probably good that email leaked. If it didn’t and we ended May with no lineup, there would probably have been a bunch of people posting on there that they must be cancelling the fest.
On one hand, I understand some of the folks on Facebook and Reddit are being way too dramatic about this. On the other hand, people do have to book lodging, flights, and general planning to attend the festival from out of town. If you live in the Chicago area it likely does not matter to you, but I get it for out of towners.
I go back and forth on this - if you’re in this scene and travel in for it, fucking book it. You’ll find bands you love. But I also get that this scene is probably relatively not well off in comparison to others so I try to have some compassion.
I think it's just something you have to accept as a Riot Fest fan. I think most of the people doing the complaining are people who only like one very specific aspect/genre of the Riot line-up. Example: I wouldn't be surprised this year if there were a bunch of people waiting specifically to see if NOFX is actually on the bill. I get that it's a pain. Especially if you're trying to sort out other plans. Personally, I'm waiting to see if I'll do this or Supernova Ska this year... And depending on what Less Than Jake announces tomorrow that may be in the mix as well. But it's all part of it, at this point. But, TBH, you can always just book a hotel with a good cancellation policy (that's the bulk of the travel expense, anyway) and do the airfare once you know what you want to do.
Theoretically, if LCD played, would they actually be a main headliner? Or a co-headliner? I honestly couldn’t see them as a headliner tbh. But a co-headliner with a similar band makes sense
There’s also been quite a few festivals who have announced a line-up drop date a month or two in advance… And had to push it out because of contracts, artists bailing, etc. It’s not uncommon for anyone lto be finalizing things right down to the wire so far as I can tell.
