I like the idea of Mastodon and LOG playing with Slayer. That would be epic. NFG doing two days would be interesting too…
The more I think about it, this does really seem like the perfect year for Fall Out Boy to come back.
God, I want them to get Weird Al so badly. I still think Hole is a headliner. John Hinckley would be something.
As someone who does not like Fall Out Boy nor similar bands, that is a phenomenal Friday curation. I’d be in at 12:00pm that day.
Update: an “industry insider” on Reddit says im right about FOB and wrong about Depeche. If they’re for real, it’s now looking like Slayer, FOB, and i guess probably Hole
Fall Out Boy makes sense for this year tbh. It’s been a decade since they last played, it’s a cool hometown show to close out an album cycle too
Oh boy, I can already see those tiring people starting the "[Enter somehere] pit for Weird Al" movement
Madness are out.. they have European dates during Riot. Didn't Silverstein play last year? I would not trust anyone on Reddit that claims to be an insider, but I do think at this point Fall Out Boy is likely as a headliner
I fancy myself an industry insider these days. Funny thing is there once was a time I could text a friend and get a preliminary lineup.
Depeche Mode isn’t too far off from New Order/NIN/Ministry. Same ingredients just a different approach.
I could see a scenario where Hole closes out Riot but on the poster they put another name or two at the top line along with them. Might argue the same for Slayer too.
this tour has a riot fest sized hole, but i dont see the nightsweats playing riot, but MMJ definitely could (though they are already playing salt shed july 4th)
I'd rather lower-tier bands like Son Volt - I don't know if Night Sweats would work as sub headliners, but I agree with this New England Hardcore Fest is dropping their lineup Friday, same weekend as Riot - might eliminate more bands
I typically wouldn't count on much overlap with this one but... With Slayer on the bill, and hardcore trending upward in general, it might knock out a few bands this year.
I’d be fine with that. Americana has always been a close cousin to punk especially with the shared love of rebel country and rockabilly.
'bout that time of year again... A little bit earlier than usual. But I'm here for the roasting followed by calls of them being "unprofessional" or whatever.
Korn, Gojira, and Spiritbox are all out. Not that they were hot in discussion... Pepper and Iration are also out. Still a little surprised Pepper's never been tossed on a hip-hop stage in the same way that Dirty Heads have been (albeit much earlier in the day).
