that furnace fest line up is not for me. only 8-ish bands that id really want to see, and a few of those ive already seen so many times. always wanted to give it a shot as it seems like one of the top 3 coolest fest settings, but i just dont think i can take 3 straight days of scream heavy music anymore. part of why i love riot so much, always gives me just enough but balances with the variety
I still think The Strokes will be one of the headliners after they sold out the UIC Pavilion this month.
I’m further fueling my fire with this. More US shows added to their tour. No second Chicago show added…
I really like Noah now after not giving him a proper chance prior but no way should he headline Riot Fest lol
A lot of Slaughter Beach, Dog has been coming on my Spotify of late which got me thinking of MoBo. I know that's the reunion many want this year for a 10-year celebration but I can't help but feel that if it were happening - as extremely unlikely as it is - there'd be some chatter at this point.
Riot's site says tier pricing is going up soon.. I hope that means a lineup announcement earlier than usual (not holding my breath) I don't see the point in raising ticket prices without announcing something
Steve from Better Lovers posted an IG album of all the different fests they are playing this year and said there are still 2 more to be announced. not sure how many more US fest that havent announced yet are out there that would book someone like them (but could be international as well) so i think they are pretty likely
They are probably playing Blue Ridge if it happens.. the only other 2 not announced I can think of are Riot & Fest and they seem more like a band for Riot
The sad thing about Blue Ridge is it can always find a few thousand mainstream rock fans who’ve never heard of it & sucker them in to buying tickets when the lineup drops. if they were even remotely niche they would have burned every bridge possible way before last year’s debacle.
I hope they dont even try, cut your losses and save the embarrassment... but the only way its possible is if they stop trying to be the 'biggest' and compete with DWP fests, and scale waaaay the fuck down. like 2 days, 3 stages max, lol, even then i dont see it, they had to have burned sooo many bridges in the one music community (bands and fans) they rely on
Don’t rise in prices usually mean an announcement or it’s been selling well? I can’t think of many other reasons… but also, when they say “soon” that could mean 2 months lol
My wife and I were talking about MoBo last night and we both agreed that if/when they do a reunion, we would travel to wherever they played to see them. I think my wife would be convinced to do Riot this year if Riot got them.
