Story of the year is opening the used tour. Playing Gary to start the tour. It’s right on the edge of 90 days. I don’t get how they have never played
Story of the Year has probably never played for the same reason MxPx hasn't. It needs to be the right weekend for the right money and the right spot on the schedule for it to be worth their time. For a long while, both bands would have been relegated to a main stage slot at like, 1pm, or closing out Rebel which would have been both fully appropriate and feel weird at the same time. Hah. I actually think both bands are at a spot where they could get what they want now given the legwork they've been doing. They can just point to their tour history, slots on other festivals, etc. So maybe this is the year?
MxPx has been popping up on a lot of NOFX’s final shows. If we’re speculating that NOFX will have their own curated stage, I could see MxPx playing Riot if it’s under that condition
I'm not convinced until I see their name on the poster Although, there's only so many bands left that could headline so maybe you are right
Oh for sure! But between their 90% sellout rate over the last 3-5 years, the WWYF slot last year, direct support on all those NOFX festivals, and headlining Furnace Fest I think MxPx would be pretty high up on whatever stage their on whether they were with NOFX or not. Same with Story of the Year. They've had two pretty successful headliners, a solid WWYF slot, and some support tours under their belts. Plenty to point to and say "put us on after 3pm!"
deftones are the only true loss for me, would have like last dinner party but they were obvious for lolla. i can already see killers and killer mike at evolution fest the follwoing weekend
With Dave back in the fold, it seems, I was expecting Perry to have Jane’s play Lolla this year. They’re not on the lineup, so I’ll bet them for Riot
yea 3 names i expected to see on lolla but didnt puts them in play for riot (at least in theory): Janes addiction, Orville Peck, & Amyl & the sniffers
Took me a beat to realize it was Future X Metro Boomin and not... Future X and another artist named Metro Boomin. I feel much better now that I know all of the headliners. My level of "in touch" remains exactly where it should be.
Lolla basically takes nothing I was excited about out of play. I like the Killers a lot and would be happy to see them headline, but I saw them play a relatively small show a couple years ago so I'm not aching to see them again. Aside: It's always funny to me when Zedd and Zed's Dead are on the same lineup.
Yes, they could. But I think RTJ likely plays next year or another festival with a new album. They just did their 10 years of RTJ dates, don't see them performing just to perform without something new.
So Hatebreed said they weren't playing Riot, but don't have a Chicago date (It is also possible they can't announce anything after the Milwaukee Metal Fest) Killer Mike is doing festivals around Riot and it's a totally different stage setup, so I doubt we get RTJ
