Man, that’s kind of a disappointment for me. Like, a lot.

  4. Didn't expect them to reunite at all, much less just five years after their big farewell tour. Not my thing, but I'll probably watch a few songs again.

Not my thing either and they did just play five years ago (I guess that’s considered a long time now) but I’m very curious who the other two headliners will be.

they are also playing louder than life...which i guesssss isnt technically the midwest, but chicago and louisville aint that far from each other, haha

At least if Sum 41 or NoFX play during them it is an easy choice for me.

    Louisville isn't considered the midwest?

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Slayer at Riot 2014 when I went was one of the worst sounding bands. I have no idea what their drummer was doing that show.

Email confirms them as a headliner as well as saying they have more reunions to come. Plus album plays, after shows, etc.

Slayer is a big fat yawn.

  12. I still think Fall Out Boy is basically a lock.

    Nope. Kentucky isn't midwestern.

Almost assuredly unless Lolla wants them for some reason but with Blink likely being at Lolla, can't see that.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Wasn’t expecting Slayer or for them to be announced so soon. Guess that’s pretty cool

If Fall Out Boy is playing that would be something I’d watch. I don’t have a big enough interest to ever see them at Wrigley but at a festival where I’m seeing a bunch of other acts I’d watch for sure.

Lowkey - Alkaline Trio stole that show.

Man ya I'm not excited about that at all. But hopefully someone good will be closing another stage.

    It's chaos. Be kind. Prestigious

Watch Slayer is going to conflict with Sum 41 or Soco or some shit

If Slayer is the headliner that hopefully means we're getting a band that sounds nothing like Slayer to close the other stage, very excited for whoever that is

Some maps include Kentucky, but parts of metro Louisville is in Indiana - so it's technically midwest, close enough

ill take it! last time they played i was splitting sets that whole night so i only saw a few songs, and would like to see more. if i remember i was frantically running around trying to see as much of bloc party, rise against, slayer and wutang all with in a short timeframe

People have been speculating Lamb of God and Mastodon playing since their tour has no Chicago date so maybe they’re having more of a metal themed day and those acts are also playing?

  24. Lamb of God makes sense to play Roots before Slayer. Another band that just isn't for me though. I'd definitely like to see Mastodon too.

    That tour ends in August

Mastadon is playing Louder than Life the week after Riot, but not Lamb of God - so it could be one, not both

    https://www.revolvermag.com/music/slayer-reuniting-2024-louder-life-festival

Louder than Life & Riot had several crossovers last year (at least 10 if not more)

I think this almost makes the Offspring a lock - they are literally playing every other rock festival this year.
