NO WEAKNESSES They did play in 2016 I believe. As much as I would like them back in Chi we got robbed of a headliner last year since they played Do Division Fest, I’d like a full set
They played both Fest and Riot Fest in terrible slots unfortunately Sunday morning Bo Diddley stage at Fest there were like 20 people there

this is just anecdotal, and just a hunch by me rather than any sort of hard evidence but 2 bands im adding to my likely list are 1) Sublime - in a rolling stone profile they said 'will be playing festivals the rest of the year' (though they could just as easily be at lolla) 2) Fever 333 is teasing a tour and i commented on a post saying would love either a show in my hometown (though i didnt say where) OR a return to the punk fest in chicago and they replied with ' we got you' and salute emoji.
Yeah, I am assuming that Sublime will play either Lolla or Riot. Hopefully Sublime with Rome having played Riot a couple times but never playing the Chicago Lolla will give Riot a leg up.
I could see Lolla outbidding them by a significant amount if they really wanted them. Fingers-crossed for Riot, though. Would be a solid get.
I could see Sublime gravitating towards Riot, if there were negotiations from both fests. When they got announced for that Levitate Festival show, they explained that they immediately said yes due to the fest’s roots with skate and surf culture. I could see them easily wanting to do Riot because of Riot’s obvious punk/ska roots and their history having SWR play a few times. At the same time though, people like money, so…
Sublime closing a side stage with 311 playing right before them would be a nice night Or them playing right before No Doubt on main stage
Pouzza Lineup - too early in the year to have any concrete implications for Riot Fest, but it's another excuse for me to beg Strike Anywhere to play Chicago.
Especially if the undercard somewhat resembled that Florida festival. Something that was a mix of ska and punk in the undercard would be beautiful: Sublime, 311, Goldfinger, RX Bandits, Zebrahead, and Catbite looks really great on paper TBH.
Sublime With Rome is out. Playing Gary, IN this summer, which I assume counts as the Chicago show of the tour Although, it would be amazing and hilarious if Riot booked Sublime and Sublime With Rome
I had this thought when I saw the list of cities. Haha. I wonder if it would prohibit Riot from wanting to book Sublime Sans Rome. Part of me feels like this tour is more for Rome and the band than anybody else. So it's plausible they could book Sublime, I guess? The bigger question here is if people will really notice or care about the name-shift.
It's two different bands - they only share one member Sublime with Rome are playing a festival on the outside of Chicago (McHenry, Ill) the week before Riot though.. so they are definitely out
They've had to have booked the headliners by now - even just that would be better than nothing That being said, I don't expect anything until April or May like usual
I really hope they have something good under their sleeve. WWWY doing album plays must already been a hit on their ticket sales, and this new fest will appeal to their OG crowd.
they arent going to change how they announce their shit just because of no values. also no values is june 8th. tickets start at $200 a bunch of bands at no values could end up on riot anyways so....
Honestly, I don't think any of these festivals will have any impact on Riot Fest. They're so specific. There's deviations on the line-up but none to the point that I think they'd need to be concerned. No Value skews hard toward the crusty old punk dude in the 35-45 year old demo whose probably felt underserved by Riot Fest for the past decade, anyway, if we're being real about it. EDIT: It's a solid festival line-up. Undeniably sick. But it has more of a "regional" feel to it.
And there is Sublime playing another punk fest. I’m starting to feel they would possibly replay riot instead of Lolla even if they were offered both.
I'd assume they have a Goldenvoice contract they need to fulfill so they won't play Lolla. That probably leaves Riot Fest as an option.
They've been pivoting away from the album plays the past few years anyway. I also wonder how much WWWY being in Vegas means people don't go. It's part of why I won't ever consider it.
