And we'll probably have quite a few more "all but confirmed" before then! Haha. But the list of who won't be playing usually seems much longer than the list of those who are likely playing.
Well, looks like we can pretty formally lock NOFX in. Somebody from Australia posted a t-shirt with all 40 of the cities on that final run. And Chicago is listed between Boston and San Pedro! Visual evidence provided below. Just because.
Yeah, I don’t see them having a Chicago Punk in Drublic the same month as Riot Fest. So definitely a lock.
said this in the main tour speculation thread but andrew mcmahon said there are soco shows scheduled in the fall on weekends which i think makes them a lock for riot. this pleases me.
Not expecting much crossover with Bourbon and Beyond, but worth noting that it does put The National and Dinosaur Jr in the midwest during Riot weekend.
But, to your point, it's been 10 years since The National played and I do think they'd take a headlining slot at Riot Fest over what will likely be an early evening at Lollapalooza. And they're on Sunday at Bourbon and Beyond.
national, dino jr, meg myers, soul asylum, amigo the devil, son volt, the bacon brothers, beck, black pumas.. theres some potential cross over i would love
War On Drugs would be a good get too. SDRE too but obviously they're out already. The one I really want but won't happen is the Wallflowers.
What we're saying here is that Riot Fest really needs to lean in to being the Lolla replacement for these acts who used to be able to play much later in the days to larger crowds but can't anymore. Pitchfork has kind of started to do this for the headliners.
Here’s the daily lineup. This gives us a feel of when Riot-adjacent acts would play on Riot Fest weekend
The one act that fits this that I want Riot Fest to get because it would be a fucking blast is St Vincent.
