I hope next year they start running aftershows at the Salt Shed. Spending the whole day in the sun and then going to a packed oversold aftershow is not very fun.
Stoked for Something Corporate and going to bed early. Hoping we don’t end up with a similar rain situation as last year, but we’ll see. Aaron West raincoat or All Get Out shirt depending on the weather.
It has been a great weekend other than the dust and the heat, it has been a great weekend! I don’t think I have watched a bad set yet. And today has some of the acts that I’m most excited to see! I cannot wait!
Yeah, it’s not looking like last year. But it’ll be rainy throughout the day. Half an inch total. So lots of drizzle and periods of light rain, hah. Poncho time, baby!
Feeling good about my decision to arrive late today (for the first time ever hah). Mentally prepared myself to potentially not get there until 3:30 if need-be and missing the first few bands I wanted to see… This rain is a lot more intense than I had anticipated. Hoping it simmers some soon!
I was leaving and I heard them play Cute Without the E and it sounded horrendous. I don’t know why people still actively want to see them. It’s like being in a bad relationship hoping for someone to change but all they do is let you down.
Haha agreed, was just curious if it was from people who didn’t know they stunk live or if it was new levels of bad
Rain is starting to get heavier, hopefully this doesn’t last much longer or it’s gonna start to get sloppy Having said that, Saxquatch was a blast in the rain
It's mom/dads night out for emo couples with kids I guess. They do 4 shows in the area every holiday and they always sell out.
Hearing from various folks that St. Vincent, Waxahatchee, Sir Chloe, and Sprints are highlights from the weekend so maybe that a sign that booking fresh acts every year (and fresh acts with women!) is good and important.
SoCo was so much fun. Perfect way to end the weekend for me, and very happy the rain didn’t come back.
This was posted today on Instagram, obviously intentionally due to what weekend it is, but it was very interesting to actually see this in visual form, apparently they have done this for numerous prior Riot Fests as well. According to the data the percentage was way down this year compared to previous years.
