https://www.washingtonpost.com/clim...ve/2024/how-accurate-is-the-weather-forecast/ This is a fun thing to play with.
Is wrestling a new thing for Riot? I don't recall noticing it in any prior years but I also tend to ignore anything carnival-related there so unless it's right in my face I'd probably miss it. Haha. If it is new then that's one thing that they're pulling in from the RiotLand map.
The post has been revised still missing Slayer from the lineup. All the comments mentioning Green Day have been deleted. Could slayer have cancelled?!
I mean, technically Green Day does have 9/23 open... In Seattle the next day but technically open for that day.
I wouldn't read into that. The post skips a bunch of notable bands I might have expected to see (the Offspring, Pennywise, Sublime, Public Enemy). The person who shared it probably panicked and just deleted Green Day as quickly as possible. EDIT: And TBH, Green Day replacing Slayer wouldn't go over so well. They'd probably try to swap in a heavier band.
Sorry... I meant specifically for anybody who bought a ticket expecting Slayer. In general, yeah, Green Day would go over really well. Obviously. But I still think that, if Slayer were to drop out the festival would first shoot for a similar artist in terms of general style and draw. "Similar" is a very subjective term, obviously, and when you get to the headliners the pool is much smaller so who knows what would happen. Hah. But Slayer didn't drop out and Green Day isn't replacing them so it's all moot. LOL
I’m curious what Slayers draw will actually be. FOB is easily going to have the biggest crowd though.
reunited slayer, new look sublime, and nofx final Chicago show is going to be an interesting battle for crowd size.
does anyone have links to IG or youtube pages for any of the newly added local bands? I found Alenia here, but the other 2 are difficult to google, haha
Holy shit everyone needs to listen to that Dat Boy Zach song @Tifoil linked and make it a priority to go catch their set Listening to that was amazing (trust me you’ll understand once you listen LOL)
The map is here. Looks like they're still teasing RiotLand stuff... Not so sure how I feell about the new format. It's not that different than usual but it looks like it'll get a bit more congested moving between the main stages and Rise/Radical/NOFX.
so all the riotland gimmicks will be where the carnival rides + rebel stage were. the rise & radical stage audience space seems.. idk, small?
