I’m going to state that this is just a joke before I even say it, but maybe Rio Fest can convince Linking Park to play Riot Fest 2025 by showing them that they also love to troll their own fans.
I honesty think if Chester never passed away they would have eventually headlined riot Let them have their big return next year and play actual venues and not fests and then in 2026 they could headline
Suicidal tendencies moved from Sunday to Friday. Latest schedules then show a bunch of moving around for some of the early heavy Sunday bands (gel, sunsami, nekrogoblicon…)
Probs because they are booked the same Sunday on New England Metal and Hardcore Fest. Also, they cut their set shorter to fit on Friday schedule. For ST and Tornillo.
It seems the new bands are from the local community. DatBoyZach is a kid rapper, VII is also a rapper and Alenia is a metal band, all from Chicago
I was secretly hoping the shift on Friday would mean Spiritual Cramp's set somehow got bumped up so they wouldn't overlap with ALL. Ah well... Now I get to decide if I want to watch the first 15 minutes of Suicidal or the last 15 minute of Face to Face after Drug Church.
The 3 bands they added are local community bands according to the push notification they sent out on the app
The Offspring contest is going to be texting the keyword, not calling and praying to get through. The doors are at 7:30 and the show starts at 9.
I like this Jack Kays album a surprising amount considering it seems like he came up in Travis Barker's stable of emo rap guys. Should be a fun early afternoon set on Saturday.
Yeah, he definitely caught me offguard. I'll probably pop over to that stage for a few songs after Codefendants and before the Buzzcocks. There's actually a few really fun early day acts for me this year that I want to catch. Usually there's 1-2 but there's a bunch this time around... Jhariah, Liquid Mike, Sir Chloe, Doom Scroll, and Sprints. It makes my heart happy to still be pleasantly surprised like this. But it also makes my back hurt thinking about how early I'll be getting there each day.
Saw Catbite at Punk in Drublic yesterday and they busted out the "Knowledge" cover (with Chris Cresswell from the Flatliners doing some leads). I think that Operation Ivy cover set has potential to be my favorite of the weekend...
I have gone every year since 2017 and the only time I really had an issue with the weather was Sunday last year. Some rain here and there but nothing dealbreaking really. I do take a disposable poncho every time it seems like it might ran and it's a lifesaver.
The tentative 10-day forecast will start to roll out, day-by-day over the weekend. But given the way things went for me here in Boston this past weekend for a festival? 2 weeks ago it was supposed to be rainy with thunderstorms. Then clear. Then just rain. Then no rain on Saturday and rain all day Sunday. Then thunderstorms at night on Saturday and into Sunday AM... What we got was a bright and sunny Saturday a slightly cloudy Sunday AM and some sprinkle showers in the late afternoon. Haha. The Riot forecasts tend to give me similar whiplash. LOL
honestly, im ready for them to update their app so i can make my schedule. or at least put the daily schedules in there.
