So you don't even get the 20% off now? It comes after the festival ends. It's going to be some stupid Tixr reward, isn't it?
It’s easier to say this because it’s been easy to change plans since we did fully refundable bookings and all that, but I truly don’t care that it’s been messy, just stoked it’s back in the city. Will make the entire weekend so much easier and more fun. Stoked to get the schedule and start planning out our days!
They snuck in some lineup changes today too! adds: magnolia park, people r ugly Drops: loveless, the mysterines Changed days: jhariah from Sunday to Friday
The tour poster listed 9/21 and 9/22. So Saturday makes sense. I believe people allso said it was going to be at Concord Music Hall too. Honestly, same. I feel for people not in the same boat but... I've been able to duck/weave and I kinda can't wait to see the schedule tomorrow!
If people are angry about the changes and having to rebook lodging or whatever I get that but there are people on Reddit saying they are going to file class action lawsuits against Riot Fest and well…good luck with that lol
I mean, they already went against their own terms in June and now aren’t so they have some standing and precedent
I wonder if they even had all their Riotland stuff even made. I have a feeling that if they couldn't go back to Douglass they would have just cancelled the whole thing or just downsize it. There were rumors of that happening back in like April/May.
Not sure if it was mentioned here but Loveless were removed from the lineup following allegations towards one of the band members.
I always just take a bus going north (blanking on which one) and get off in Logan and catch one there.
~80% of the "RiotLand" stuff was part of the original layout anyway. I'm sure they can manage to add 3-4 additional tents. Obviously the "world's largest festival bar" and the sandbox or whatever that bullshit was won't be happening but the majority of it was basically just a re-brand of what was already part of the festival if we're being real about it.
There's some stuff on the Accountability In Music thread Accountability in Music • Page 854 • forum.chorus.fm
A lot of it was rebrand, but I’m curious to see what happens to the casino, the planned homage to their former secret venue, and the gay club. Those were pretty prominent in the announcement/map and definitely not rebrands of anything they’ve done before. I assume they’re all cancelled?
Homage to the venue can happen, the gay club can too. The casino was likely never happening in Bridgeview, either, so that's not a loss.
I think the homage to the venue is the easiest to pull off. I was hoping it’d be a fairly large tent with unannounced acoustic sets or something, but I struggle to see how they’d fit that in to Douglass without slashing the size of one of the VIP areas, removing the carnival, etc. Now at best I think it’ll probably be a tent with some pictures similar to the Stamos art exhibit a few years back. With the club I really wasn’t sure what to expect, but when I think club I think dancing and DJ which would require a pretty large tent. I struggle both with where that’d fit in Douglass and what it’d be if not a large dance tent.
I don’t believe ticket price increases happened past the lineup announcement. Am I right in that or did I miss one?
I mean, did you look at that Jon Cacciatore guy's Twitter account? He is a loser and he should eat shit. EDIT: If they're doing that to random people saying "I lost money because of this" or whatever that would be one thing. But that guy's account is one huge red flag.
Yeah, it's a lot of anti-vax, election conspiracy, and woke ruining the country with a strong dash of transphobia. If that "eat shit, loser" thing was a bit more rampant I'd be in full agreement but... It feels like they picked this guy deliberately. (And obviously, no shade at you! Just felt like it was worth pointing out because this guy really sucks and honestly probably wasn't going to Riot Fest, anyway. Seems more like a shit stirrer.)
