Man, today's been a wild ride. Canceled that shitty motel. Booked a room at the Double-Tree Hyatt as a "just in case." Got a text from a friend who lives in Normal, IL and had bought a ticket last year wanting to split an AirBnB...

My partner, who had said she didn't want to go, noticed the Laura Jane Grace/Catbite set and is suddenly considering it leaving me having no idea what the fuck I'm doing or what I need to book (or not book).

This is why I still think there won’t be after shows in the city. As someone pointed out, they can go past 10pm now. Maybe they do “late shows” onsite (maybe in AAA?).

I have a room at the Holiday Inn near the Midway airport. If y'all were in my shoes, would you drive to and from the festival (less than 5 miles away) and spend $120 to park, or get a Lyft to and from the fest each day?

 

It was some building that they used to have secret shows at back in the multi venue days.

It’s on the RiotLand map (building on the lower right side). Apparently they ran a secret show years back, so I assume it’s a stage (perhaps in a tent?) at the festival

In a similar boat, my dad and i are at the Hyatt in that big hotel cluster on Cicero. It's 4 miles to the stadium which is a bit too far to walk.

Well, I'd walk it. My 57 year old dad not so much.

If you’re at the hotels at Midway and have a rental I would drive. I imagine the Ubers will be out of control. Just wait and see what they do about the shuttles first. I work right next to those Hotels and my advice is not walk it.

 

I'm actually debating on whether or not a rental car might be worth it this time around. Especially if I wind up splitting the cost of an AirBnB that's 10 minutes away...

The ability to just get in a car, drive the 20 minutes (assuming traffic) will inevitably be worth it to not have to deal with ride-shares. Plus being able to drive to/from the airport, etc.
