Open-ish offer, lineup pending, etc: If you're staying in the Lombard/Oak Brook area and want to split a parking pass, I have a minivan.
Booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Midway Chicago, which is a 10 minute drive from the festival, but also would love to know about shuttles. I imagine Lyfts are going to be competitive.
This is not great. Uber prices will probably be high because everyone is taking them to the Orange Line, and limited in the area because everyone is taking them at the same time lol. Douglass Park was not the easiest to get to and we all had our personal gripes, but at least there were a few options to get you out of there in a relatively normal time frame.
They have to offer refunds for advertising Douglass right? Or maybe there’s something in the terms saying venue subject to change at any time?
Gonna wait until the line-up drops before booking anything and feeling like no matter what it is I won't be attending at this point just because of how bummed out I am. I just had to go in and cancel the reservation I had for a hotel that would now be a 44 minute Uber drive both ways, my partner is all bummed about the location being so far out from the "fun" things we usually like to do, etc.
Also, can we talk about how getting from Bridgeview to the in-the-city aftershows is going to be damn near impossible now?
They'll have to do aftershows in the burbs lmao. "Gel playing @ 11 at Punk Rock Tacos in Villa Park!"
"At Riot Fest 2024, we will be saying goodbye to one of our favorite bands. A band that is family to us. As they are joined by their friends and fans alike, let the ringmaster named Fat Mike take you into the night." one of the pins
Damn y'all like to complain a lot lol It will be fine. And 99% of these bands will be in Chicago in the next 12 months again anyway.
Not able to listen to the interview, but are there only three stages on the map? Maybe 4 if they use the stadium itself?
I do wonder if the stadium itself is used will mean that larger headliners could happen in the future
I mean to be fair they did advertise Douglass Park for a long time up until now so I think it’s fair for people out of town who booked based on that to feel a little salty.
