Wonder if Chicagoland Speedway is an option. Nothing scheduled there, they recently had hirings for security..
I am just very curious to see what happens. Keeping it in Chicago proper is the best case for the most people, but that has the most hurdles and contentious relationships. On the other hand, moving outside of the city into the general "Chicagoland" area is probably their easiest and most likely move, but will reduce their pool of people willing to go, be it city people or out of staters that would be flying. On the surface, neither seem like great options to me. Hopefully there is something that works in the city though.
I just don’t have a car like a lot of folks and don’t want to rely on even less reliable transportation than the CTA to be to/from the festival somewhere in the suburbs. 15 minutes to go!
I think there are many folks like you and for that reason it's my hope they remain in the city. The burbs folks can all make it to the city but not vice versa.
And not to mention, if you are travelling from another state, you are less inclined to fly in to be in the burbs. If you are a driving from a nearby state it probably doesn't matter as much.
I’ve been going to SeatGeek/Toyota for years. It’s honestly a pretty nice layout when done right. For those complaining about coming from the city it’s a 20min bus ride or Uber for the Midway orange line. I’m sure they’re gonna figure something out to make that trip between the two easier.
Orange Line, which runs a limited schedule even with event weekends, and you're also relying on Pace buses. No thanks.
I don't love it, but it is the easiest drive for me of all the possible options. Curious how they sell it, curious how it goes, mostly interested in the lineup.
It has to be an absolutely killer lineup for me to consider not requesting a refund (assuming they will because of the location change but knowing Riot Fest, they won't).
