Part of me feels like Riot is done. The other part of me feels like the announcement about RiotLand will actually be a pretty sick improvement that people will love. The reality is probably somewhere in-between. And I’m still wondering if this might have been something they’ve had planned for a bit as a back-up. The statement is so damn confusing. LOL
There is no way that they are going back to separate venues. You can still choose your own adventure in a normal festival with deciding which bands you are going to see.
It’s not gonna go back to a multi venue fest unless they cut down on who they book. Riot is 100x bigger now than it was pre 2012. Both with who they book and attendance
Yeah this would kill the appeal of Riot for me. They just emailed about Juneteenth festival in Douglass they’re sponsoring sooooooo who fucking knows. I’m annoyed if it’s just at DP and this is just theatre but just give us the line up.
It’s basically this one and Humboldt. Or you use the US Steel land like DMB. Washington and Jackson would never be allowed to be destroyed.
What’s the hotel situation out that way? Straight up if I had to rent a car it would pretty much kill the idea of attending for me. Hah.
That's 60 miles out of Chicago, like and hour drive accroding to Google Maps, for a lot of people who doesnt have a car it would be really inconvenient unless they offer enough shuttles for the attendees
Also: Every time I see a post from Scott Heisel I’m reminded of the time he texted a mutual friend of ours and threatened me with physical violence because I made a joke about a review he wrote.
Yeah, nowhere near Metra. But it’s less than an hour from the northwest side. I’m quite familiar with the drive and area.
The site still says Chicago... an hour away would be a bit misleading It'd also be a logistical nightmare in such a short period
