My main issue was coming off a whole day with my whole body hurting and into a sold out show where the openers already started and I can't even get into the main floor at the venue because it's so packed. I left JEW after 5-6 songs because I couldn't hold on anymore.
Last year I did SDRE on Friday and Alexisonfire on Saturday. I was falling asleep o my feet during AOF even tho I had a pit behind me pushing me
started the Friday with Sincere Engineer, finished Saturday morning around 2 am with The Maine aftershow- incredibly painful night
Would you rather have a regular "greatest hits mixed in with the newer stuff" type set from Foo Fighters or a full album play? (I know they will be touring their upcoming album, and I don't know if any albums have milestone anniversaries this year, but if you had the choice...?)
An auction for a local elementary school in Chicago with tickets being given by the Riot Fest Foundation listed them and QOTSA as headliners and then the page was deleted when people started circulating it.
The BiddingOwl listing had them and QOTSA listed as headliners for Riot 2023. Screenshot is above, and the listing is now taken down. edit: whoops @ItsAndrew beat me to it
Ok, just saw it.. and someone said they've seen Foo a bunch of times, I'm guessing they are doing a different set with Taylor gone so I wouldn't be so ho hum on them yet
Rancid announced two Boston dates. Monday, 5/18 and Tuesday, 5/19. They have LTL that Thursday… Could see them doing Riot given the date breakdown as the Boston dates seem very random otherwise hah.
I figured they'd play with the new album, while I still don't think we're going to get an Op Ivy reunion it'd be cool if they did the first Doom Regulator show at Riot
Also I'm thinking Death Cab-QOTSA-Postal will all be headlining the same day... I think the 3rd headliner if the Foo and Queens thing is accurate is still a mystery
I think Green Day would be logical but the price tag for Green Day + Foos in one year is probably too much, so everyone can wait a year to yet again clown for Green Day haha
I’m curious why the third headliner isn’t listed in that post. Wonder if it’s a co-headliner, or a reunion of some sort. Or neither!
Honest guess: It's probably an artist the person doing the write-up for the charity auction hadn't heard of and/or didn't think was significant enough to draw interest in bidding on the tickets.
The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning on just going whatever day Postal Service ends up playing. I can't think of anyone likely to play on Sunday that'd keep me away from that Drive By Truckers show at Salt Shed.
Postal might close, but somebody is playing between the two.. they aren't just gonna go dead on the main stages for Ben to switch
Plus going right from one set to the next is probably tough on the voice. Even an hour to rest would help.
Some of those acts aren't playing Riot (for one, Foo Fighters are playing Sea Hear Now on Sep 17) Why.. because every year acts people think are locks, don't play
