Did someone just majorly goof up? QOTSA and Foo Fighters are headlining according to this website: BiddingOwl - Bateman Boosters Auction "Come see and experience the top bands at one of the top music festivals in the city. You will get 2 Three-Day General Admission tickets. Headliners include Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age." Picture says the tickets were donated by Riot Fest so this all seems legit, at least the bidding/contest at least...
People have said that Foo Fighters would be too big/expensive to book, but after MCR last year I'd say no one is really off the table (well, in the "rock" genre that isn't like, Metallica) Plus it seems like they are playing every major festival this year so now would be the perfect time to get them. So naturally if this indeed is true they will follow in Lolla's footsteps a la 2021-2022 and book Green Day in 2024 right? (a man can dream okay). QOTSA have a new album coming out and have been highly speculated for a bit so them being listed tracks. Edit: @troyplaysbass remember when you said you thought Foo would play one year with Dave curating the main stage that day, your wish might just be true this year haha
Oh wow!! That’s awesome if that’s true. I hope Riot getting Foo is the first step to them booking more bands we’ve discussed as “potentially being too big to play Riot” (Green Day, RHCP, etc)
Paramore was never booked because all signs pointed to them being on Lolla and something happened there, but Riot Fest never considered them because of the whole Lolla thing. Then they added that Milwaukee show which seemed like "hey we were gonna play Lolla but something happened and we can't play a Chicago show now so here's a late addition show in the relative area" I'm guessing The Postal Service are the third headliner, they headlined Lolla in 2013 and this is their reunion tour so I'd imagine they would want to be billed as a headliner, and I think they are a bigger deal than Death Cab who will likely sub-headline.
Foo Foghters, QOTSA, Postal Service would make me happy as a top 3. Probs I would skip the Foo as I have seen time 4 times before, but still a great get for Riot!
Seems like based on that passes will be $200 If 2 cost $400. Imo that’s a fucking steal and back to pre pandemic prices
That would be a funny way for one of their biggest headliner bookings ever to leak, but I agree that it seems pretty legit. I was out on the idea of FF playing after the crowd issues during MCR, but I assume the festival would learn some lessons from that, plus I don't know what the typical FF crowd is like. Still think this would be really fun and I hope they do it.
That’s a dangerous thought to have. The lineup always comes a month/month & a half *after* you start feeling hope that it’ll be any day now.
Does Foo Fighters change up their set lists usually or keep it pretty much the same a la Green Day in recent years? I’ve actually never seen them live so I’d be cool with whatever, but I imagine this will be a deciding factor for folks who have seen them live, especially recently, whether they catch their set or not.
Im sure their dynamic will change with the new drummer and that means their setlist will change too. Also with their new album coming soon, probs their set will be hesvily based on it
Honestly, I hope these rumors are true so I can leave early on both nights and get a head start on after shows.
After a whole day - maybe 15 years ago. But my old ass can't handle that these. I'm choosing to see the silver lining of headliners that don't do much for me personally and will let me rest for something im actually excited for.
