It seems Beach Bunny is out. They played midApril at Purdue University and Lili mentioned about Beach Bunny Fest in Chicago for August, and last week The Salt Shed sent an emial with Beach Bunny on the title but no mention about the show in the actual email, so probs Beach Bunny Fest will take place in the Salt Shed
I didn’t see what post you were responding to and got excited for an early riot announcement for a second!
Next week is the next Park District board of commissioners meeting. I do not think they will announce a lineup unless they get approval at this meeting OR they want to force a hand. Chicago Park District - Calendar No agenda set yet. Hell, not even Reset has approval yet.
Y’all remember a few years ago when Snowing reunited to do a Japan tour then came back and just fucked off again? that was pretty weird. This stacked tour package just made me think of that and how weirdly viable American DIY emo apparently is over there.
The international success of bands is truly fascinating to me. It’s interesting to see what bands/genres do well or better out of country
According to people who were there, The Interrupters said at their Chicago show last night they would be back in September so that seems like a potential lock
Same! I'm also interested in bands that just can't crack certain markets even at a smaller scale. But by far, the most interesting bit to me is how 311 has never even bothered to tour the UK since like... 1996.
Somebody mentioned this earlier in the thread today, but what I've seen quoted/paraphrased a few times is that they said "Maybe we'll see you again in September." TBH, that feels like more of a lock than if they said they'd be back in September. Because it means they really shouldn't say for sure... Which would only matter if it weren't their show to announce. Haha.
based on some of the bands we think are locks... it's probably too late, but Riot should do like a mock kids show to unveil part of the lineup (ie point at January 1, hey kids what is this.. this is The New Year)
This is a great example. They’re big in Japan and also have a good following in Europe, but not much here in the states. I remember a few years back, they played a hometown album-release show at the House Of Blues in Anaheim (2200 cap). Tickets were free and the show didn’t even sell out. The venue was even trying to give them away in contests and no luck. That was weird to me
