I actually don’t think the routing suggests this to be true. They are going from Michigan on the 15th to Ohio on the 16th to…back to Chicago on the 17th…and then Virginia on the 19th? Seems like a lot of travel since they are going away from Chicago after the MI date.
between now and may 6th all of these have chicago shows, so if the line up isnt til early/mid-may all these come in play: frank turner, smoking popes, finch, enter shikari, kevin devine, the new amsterdams, turnstile (though i did not check the sept schedule for any of these)
AAR is playing a free show this summer in Elk Grove Village but I don’t know if that would have any effect on them playing Riot Fest.
I don’t think Tegan and Sara ever announced a Chicago show like they said they were going to so I’d put them as still possible.
he has his own headlining show with the sleeping souls in milwaukee is what i was looking at since its a riot presents show, haha
I couldn't find any real mention of this besides the actual announcement from last year. Is it still happening?
Would Turnstile play after a Metro show, Lollapalooza set, Lollapalooza aftershow, Aragon show, and now two opening spots on the Blink tour at the UC? I dunno, I feel like they hit Chicago a lot this album cycle and unless they start a new era before Riot, I’m not sure if they are likely.
my excitement is all time high today seeing the gathered list of 'likely's". im loving the indie/punk critical darling vibe (pup, frank, gaslight, gibbard duo, death grips). Riot hasnt leaned THIS hard into it before (whether by choice or just didnt work out) but its very much their lane and feels very refreshing, as these are they types of bands that could and should start to take over the 90's skate punk & early 00's emo aka 'riotfest bread & butter' slots when those bands eventually start to hang it up. hope they start getting even more like idles, amyl, viagra boys, fontaines dc, chats etc... and that doesnt include the ska and hardcore revivals that will also help fill out the line ups for years to come. i also look forward to who the wildcard is gonna be this year
Here's my final Riot Fest lineup prediction and it probably won't even be close. The lineup will likely be a bit smaller than this, but fingers crossed for a stacked mid-card. This will likely be my last prediction ever, unless this one ends up on the right track.
someone mentioned the Beths, but they will be in New Zealand.. they aren't staying in the states for over a month not playing shows as for AAR, I thought free shows didn't effect festival bookings but Big Freedia is playing Pride and not RESET but Pride is free but has a "suggested donation", the Elks Grove thing appears to be free free.. I'll have to just say I have no clue on that one lol AND i hate beating a dead horse but I'm still not getting why people think Paramore are playing, all signs indicate that they pulled out of Lollapalooza for whatever unknown reason, then ADDED a show in Milwaukee the day after the Lolla contract was null.. BUT now they are gonna play Riot (when Riot probably already had their 3 headliners booked).. there is not much logic in that, help me out on what I'm missing PLEASE and also I'm pretty certain Fiserv Forum has right of refusal to let them play in Chicago and they have A LOT of tickets to sale in Milwaukee https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/07005E76C5F9211C maybe they are playing and I'm wrong but I kind of doubt it.
