Wouldn’t Sad Sumner technically make them not in play? Unless Riot announced then at the last minute.

I just wish people would stop sayin rise plays too much when they’ve only done it 4 times and 2021 was cuz faith no more dropped. If they don’t drop rise doesn’t play. Regardless of what’s happened I still think this year would be a year they are on the lineup

 

Yeah, my guess is Riot would announce them after Sad Summer passes through

 

Yeah especially with how piss poor sad summer is selling

 

They just couldn't announce TBS until after.. and that would be like July 26 which is so late, I think they should just take a break from TBS.. there's bands Riot have never booked that could fit into that spot lol

Jason Isbell? Doesn't seem like someone in Riot's wheelhouse and he's rolling through the area the week before but his tour ends the Saturday of Riot so maybe a Sunday spot? I don't really listen to him but he did just announce a new album.

 

I'd be really surprised but delighted to see Jason at Riot. Is Sacred Rose happening this year? That seems more like something he'd do.

 

Highly doubt Isbell plays Riot especially with the tour's itinerary .. he's playing Nola the Friday and Memphis the Saturday.. the Milwaukee show on Sep 12 is probably one of those Milwaukee/Chicago combined market show thing some artists do

Milwaukee - 2 days off - Shreveport - New Orleans - Memphis then 8 hour drive to Chicago doesn't make much sense to me

Sacred Rose has been really really quiet so I'm guessing it's not happening again

** he played 2 shows in the Chicago market last month, so there's probably the actual answer why no Chicago dates coming up

Fuck it, I'm locking it in: Thursday, May 11th is my prediction for the day of the line-up drop.

The ramp-up to release with sass, sarcasm, and self-deprecation usually lasts about two weeks. We're within range.

 

I thought this was the Bamboozle thread for a sec and was super confused

When I read “May 11th for the lineup drop” I thought he meant the schedule, and that the joke was supposed to be that Bamboozle is so disorganized that they’d drop their schedule the week after the festival. LOL

 

It's amazing that the same jokes for Riot Fest and Bamboozle work... But for very different reasons.
