    Green Day makes more sense

I'm guessing Foo just play Wrigley for the 8th time this summer

Wow. I might go to louder festival. Sunday is insane.

Im hesitant on wanting GD this year because c’mon… Dookie AND American Idiot both have a big anniversary coming up in 2024.

10 years ago Reading got them to play both. Start negotiating now, and you can get that in the works for next year as the headliner 2 separate nights.

    They've played Riot already

They have a show in April at HOB, but I don't expect the lineup until May so it's very possible

Green Day would be cool, but it’d be the third summer in a row playing Chicago - they’d have to do a special set.

Riot's pockets are presumably nowhere near as deep. I think they'd have to choose one or the other.

And for Riot, if we're being real about it? I think Green Day would be the easier sell to the base.

I mean, it's not so much what I "want" as what I think is possible. They have a new album on the way and it looks like they're doing far more festivals than usual... Riot would just make a mess of sense this year.

But yeah, if pressed? I would much prefer they do an album play next year but they seem to do things like that for "fun" rather than as a full tour. The way they operate, though, I could see them releasing an album in the fall with a short run of festival dates and smaller shows... Then doing a bigger tour in 2024.

Not if it's a festival set with a decently curated line-up (e.g., a main stage of solid "pop-punk" gets).

Tool would make sense too, but no way they get Foo.

Could see Blink as a possibility if they announce after their shows in May.

Pitchfork announce their lineup on Monday, and Lolla on Tuesday. Only if Riot announced theirs on Wednesday lol

At least next week we will now more bands that are out

Foo, tool, and Green Day would make solid headliners for riot fest but I don’t think they have the kind of deep pockets dwp has

Now that they're all also on LTL I feel more confident in this

I honestly have no clue if Mike would book Limp Bizkit or not (I'd personally be fine with it) ... I mean years ago, Riot basically made a joke of booking Limp Bizkit and now they have the big nostalgia/comeback factor and are getting booked everywhere

I'd probably lean no to them being booked but after living through 2020, I guess nothing should surprise me lol

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

No Chicago date on My Morning Jacket’s summer tour. Could mean Pitchfork or Lolla, but something to think about

    Giant gap around Lolla..

They could also be playing Ravinia which is being announced tomorrow

and Sacred Rose as said below, although it's not a good sign there hasn't been any news about it taking place yet this year

If Sacred Rose is coming back, then it would make a lot of sense for them to play that. No idea if there's been any confirmation one way or another on that.

Btw I 100% agree with green day fans.... for the love of God, please change up the setlist. Their festival set list is almost the exact same, every single time. They're still playing SHOUT and other covers. My God. They did those same covers in 2004.

And ya Green Day would be cool but not insanely exciting to me unless they did something special. Definitely wouldn't complain if they were on it though.

I went to Lollapalooza last year to see Green Day so I’m sure that means this will be the year that they finally play Riot.

Would have loved to see maneskin at riot but they are playing arenas/amphitheaters on their fall tour. The tour last year was 5k cap venues

Did we know that the Lyrical Lemonade/Summer Smash thing has also officially moved out of Douglass? Maybe old news, but with Heatwave moving, Riot is officially the only one left

I've been saying riot fest needs to get the newer, fresh alt acts...even if that means deviating a little bit from their core audience.

Maneskin 100% has to be on their radar. That level of band
