I'm not even huge on 311 but honestly... Imagine a Radicals line-up with 311, Turnstile, Danny Brown, Fishbone, and (some younger/newer hardcore band with tight grooves a la Regulate; or some tasteful rap-rock a la Codefendants or Zebrahead; or a new-tone band a la Bad Operation or Omnigone). I'm sure there's even more flavorful combos but I'm busy at work today and don't have time to daydream. LOL
Isn't Nofx a no go this year which means Codefendants a no go.. Fishbone & Bad Operation are playing Supernova, but I still wouldn't count Fishbone out
That wasn't a prediction/speculation so much as a "Wouldn't it be cool some year?" kinda post. As for Codefendants, though... Yeah, they're probably out. But that's because they're playing CA on 9/16. Fat Mike co-writes, produces, and plays bass. But he's not part of their touring line-up.
Since someone asked Aftershock/Riot crossovers last year: Bad Religion, Gwar, Alexisonfire, Action Bronson, MCR, Poorstacy, Carolesdaughter, Wargasm, Yungblud If I'm not missing any, that's 9
Where'd you see/hear that? I can't find anything searching on google. He definitely sings on a few songs and none of their dates conflict with Nofx (except the two punkindrublic stops they are both playing)
It was in an Instagram post. Or maybe on the Fat Wreck/BTTG site. I forget. But Mike said pretty explicitly that he wasn't touring with them. And FWIW, he doesn't sing on any of the tracks that have been released to date.
Oh well, thought I heard his voice when they sang in ensemble on the one or two songs I listened to.. wasn't that impressed so I didn't really research them plus I don't have instagram
I wonder if Riot would go for Dethklok. Feels like something they would have done in 2014 for sure but maybe not now. Pinkshift and SYSC would be cool for the undercard. I'd watch a little bit of You Me At Six, but I haven't loved anything they've done in the last ten years.
Would love a lot of crossover here. Green Day, Rancid (know they played in '21, but they're a very Riot Fest band), 311, Limp Bizkit, Turnstile, a bunch on the under card.
I'm still not sold on Foo Fighters being a possibility. These festivals all seem to drop way more money on headliners than Riot does. That said, Green Day feels more possible than usual.
Turnstile playing again would be dope. Their 2019 set was one of the wildest pits I have seen, and now I can see them closing the 2nd main stage
Knowing absolutely nothing about how to book a festival, I could see how it might come down to just picking one of those two and it's a slam dunk that would be GD, all things being equal. They're a RF bucket list band imho.
