Neither, it's rumored for May/June.. Chicago date probably mid June IF any of this is remotely accurate

I’ll spend too much money for them at Red Rocks.

Well, I figured I'd get this Riot Fest 2023 pre-Lollapalooza line-up drop prediction out for the sake of speculation. Some bands will probably need to be re-arranged. Some bands we're placed for poster "aesthetic" purposes. Also, the line-up is bigger since I will never stop wishfully thinking they will expand the amount stages they had back in their "glory days".

Ticket prices at Red Rocks are generally reasonable for the size of the venue, but it'll sell out in minutes if not seconds.

I misread this and thought this was your Lolla line up speculation. I was like o_O

REALLY like the undercard tho. You listened Salem, I'm assuming that's some newer band I don't know and not the band that was on Fiddler that put out one wonderful EP in 2003 (that isn't on Spotify!) and then was never heard from again?

I think Salem is the name of the band with the singer from Creeper if it's the same one I know of

Thank you, I'd really love a high-quality, eclectic undercard.

And yes, the Salem band on the line-up is the one with the singer from Creeper.

Not sold on a bunch of what you have on Friday as being something that might happen but... This is really cool overall! A nice mix of deep cuts, oddball picks, etc. and most of which you might expect to see at Riot anyway. Hah.

I am curious though: Where did you see Joyce Manor falling stage-wise on Friday?

the cure dates are out. Chicago is june 10th at the united center

Thank you. In all honesty, I really hope twentyonepilots & Avril Lavigne don't happen. It was a bit difficult to find a Headliner that's available and also not a legacy act.

I had Joyce Manor slotted around 2ish on one of the main stages. If they were to play a side stage, I would bump them up to late afternoon.

similar to others- this line up is absolutely loaded after getting past 21p & avril.. and im even a lapsed fan of 21p (first 2 albums at least havent listened to the recent ones, pure laziness on my part) i just dont think riot would book them. but on the flipside anything is possible especially with last years line up having a big push for younger leaning/non-tradition riot artists on the undercard (the jake hill, josh a, mothica, caroloesdaughter, aviva types) so if riot is serious about pushing further in that direction, 21P as headliner would be a way to do it, but itd get a ton of pushback from the old-heads, who are the ones still having and spending the most disposable income.

but for my tastes this is right up my alley with some amazing cant-miss combos every day.. head automatica, bouncing souls, and fidlar on friday.. amyl, x, interrupterrs, sould glo on sat, and finch, funeral for a friend, she wants revenge and death by stereo sunday.. id be THRILLED.

No Red Rocks date for the Cure, but the guy was pretty accurate with the rest of his info. Highly doubt they are playing Chicago in June and then coming back in September for Riot though.

Yeah, don’t think they would do something like that. But makes me really wonder who the headliners are and start to think that The Postal Service is one of em.

Just occurred to me that Modest Mouse isn’t playing the Chicago-area dates of the Weezer tour this summer. That means they have no Chicago show lined up this year. Maybe they’re in play?

Them playing the same day as DCFC/PS would be fun

It's probably Death Cab _ ??? _ Postal Service closing the main stages one of the nights.. Most of their tour is sold out, I don't think they are playing Radical or Rise (??? could be Modest Mouse, makes sense)

Saves the Day announces some shows where they’re playing Can’t Slow Down and In Reverie with no Chicago date

I’d like to think Riot would know better than to get them, but…

Riot Fest promoted their Chicago show in December of last year.

I think Riot Fest booked Saves The Day last time they came here for a club show after the accusations came out so I would not put it past them.

Edit: Yes, this past December. Saves The Day

In 2021 Riot Fest dropped Saves the Day after the accusations. So would be strange for them to book them again.

I agree but then they booked them in December the following year which still confuses me, but I do think that there would be more backlash over a festival booking

Live Nation dropped them from shows in 2021 as well but are booking them at WWWYF this year.. things change I guess.

Riot was willing to put their name on their show in December, it'd be silly to think if they attached their name to that they wouldn't also be willing to book them at their Fest

There’s really only 1 album play I want from them anyways.
