saw muse last night and they would crush as riot headliner, probs not this year, but it has to happen at some point. saw them at a very small arena (way smaller than anywhere blink, nin or mcr would ever play), so i dont think the 'too big' applies anymore to them. Songs off the new albums are bonkers good live. dont know if riot could handle the stage show, but they could scale it down 50% and still be one one of the wildest setups riot has ever had tegan and sara right into DCFC/Postal service would rule
Kinda doubt it's Riot Fest. They do PA on 9/16 and then Sea.Hear.Now on 9/17 which would mean they would need to be on Friday for Riot (9/15) and that is a wildly aggressive schedule for a single weekend. I'm gonna bet the Chicago date is either a headliner or Lolla.
They just did a headliner in Chicago last year and say more shows are coming in the fall which is not when Lollapalooza is so Riot is definitely a possibility IMHO
Do you really think they'd do a festival in Chicago, then PA, then SHN all in a row? Seems pretty aggressive. Especially considering what the rest of the tour schedule looks like. There's only one other slot with three shows in a row. And those are all in North and South Carolina. It's definitely still a possibility. But given the other dates surrounding it, I'm just not sold on it being a lock or even strongly likely.
Sooooo wtf does this mean? Are they booked? Booked with an aftershow? Not booked at all? Not set in stone yet? Being intentionally vague?
If nothing else, that makes it seem like they're trying to book a show in Chicago around that time. So whether it's Riot or a separate club date... Seems like they'll be in the area that weekend. EDIT: Didn't some bands do that last year? Like, some potential Riot bands wound up just playing a club date in the area that weekend?
Tallest Man on Earth are playing Thalia Hall the Sunday night of Riot, Sept 17 So you'll have an alternative to Pantera
Didn't Charly Bliss do that? I feel like this thread had them pegged as a definite and then they just played a club show I thought? There's probably other examples, but thats the one that I remember (and makes me sad).
They opened the Jimmy Eat World aftershow since they were already touring with them leading up to Riot.
I was not being serious Pantera is playing with Metallica at Soldier Field in August 2024, that will be their only show in Chicago for the time being. Tallest Man on Earth are really playing Thalia Hall the Sunday night of Riot, Sept 17.. that wasn't a joke
Panera closes at 8 and won't be serving food at the festival. Therefore, my alternative to Panera will be Taco In A Bag. (This joke will never get old and I will not apologize for it.)
LOL EDIT: Just to prevent potential confusion, Twitter is currently having some sort of weirdo "pictures not showing" issue. Riot's gonna Riot.
No joke. I couldn’t find the post that had the entire tour listed. Just my local show. But that tour is hitting Chicago in July
