I’m gonna try to get to that LA date for sure. That album was on heavy rotation for me in lockdown in 2020. Love it
Someone in the comments on Braid’s post pointed out there’s no Chicago date and they replied with “be patient.” I think they’re a lock
I think it's almost time for my favorite pre-lineup tradition: a running list of who we think are locks/possible locks. Right now it seems like Braid, DCFC and The Postal Service are locks. I'm sure there are others I can't remember.
Yeah, "lock" season is definitely starting early this year! Usually doesn't get into full swing until mid-March or so.
Don't forget about GWAR I have unconfirmed rumors of a higher tier billed band that are possible, but if I said who they were it'd be madness.
I like that you think Muse wouldn't be a headliner LOL but seriously, it's very unconfirmed rumors but they had a US tour planned in 2020 (were going to play Punk Rock Bowling) that I think they will finally do this fall.
I could see them doing a day of mostly hardcore bands on that stage. But I don't really see them not having a barricade. I mean, it's never too soon to start. Hardcore, particularly in its current incarnation, and some of the "hardcore adjacent" acts that are popping up and playing with/around those bands (Drug Church, Militarie Gun, MSPAINT, Webbed Wing) would make perfect sense for Riot. And it's a shame they haven't delved into that yet.
I would love a hardcore stage with Turnstile and/or Knocked Loose as stage closers. Speaking of hardcore adjacent bands, I would be surprised if Scowl is not in the lineup
I was just guessing 'higher tiered billed band' was a sly way of saying headliner without saying headliner. haha. plus muse playing chicago in 2 days would open them up to a September return... in theory lol
They‘ve booked hardcore-leaning metalcore bands, but that’s about it. I could see a stage filled with modern hardcore bands and then being headlined by Hatebreed
So I was reading the comments and got to thinking what would be a cool line up for their heavier stage that would make me go regardless of the main headliners and this is what I got. I’m a little more metal based than hardcore but I am also taking this as a chance to learn of some new bands. Who would you guys change out and for who? Day 1 Turnstile Counterparts Scowl LS Dunes Vein Jordan Buckley’s New Band Angel Du$t Foreign Hands Day 2 Hatebreed Knocked Loose Stick To Your Guns The Acacia Strain Terror Gideon Kublai Khan Justice For The Damned Day 3 GWAR Spiritbox Code Orange Sleep Token Loathe Keith Buckley’s New Band Zulu Omerta
Well, we'll go ahead and call that a lock... Kinda hate that band. But it's a lock. LOL Wonder where they'd land as far as stages go. Early Radical/Rise, I'm guessing. Or paired up with GWAR on Rebel.
Wonder if a full U.S. tour is in the books. Seems weird that a band like them would fly hit to play Riot and nothing else
Lineup prediction v.2. I ran with the idea that this is the year Foo Fighters makes sense (just played Lolla in 2021, not on an album cycle, playing Milwaukee earlier in the year & See Hear Now on Sunday of RF weekend). The price of Foo Fighters causes/justifies weaker main stage headliners Saturday & Sunday but the rest of the lineup tries to make up for that.
