That would be cool. But I think if they ever do something like that it would happen in the UK or at their festival in Malta
With dates on the 1st 2nd 4th 5th and 6th. They aren’t going to play 6 shows in a row. Bmth is out for lolla but in play for riot fest
Seems like it's becoming a tradition, but OSEES are playing Chicago during RF weekend (15th & 16th at Thalia Hall)
man JJ keeps opening for acts i dont give a shit about which keeps me from checking her off the bucketlist, first motely crue for like a year or 2, and now bryan adams, lol
I realize this is going to sound insane and sometimes I do think I imagined it, but I saw Joan Jett, Salt n Pepa, Rick Ross, and Taking Back Sunday play a college together in 2011. She was incredible.
Thrice isn’t 100% out the Chicago show is over 90 days away from riot fest. it Makes them less likely tho
That line-up is great and weird. Haha. College shows not sponsored by the college radio station tend to be pretty wild and mixed-genre. One of my brothers had Method Man & Red Man headlining his spring festival with Dashboard Confessional as direct support in '05 or '06. And I remember one of my friends going to see 50 Cent and Rahzel at his school in 2003... with Reel Big Fish opening. Those student programming boards have money and some of them know how to use it in very fun ways. Haha. One of the funnest things I did in college was booking the bands for the radio station's spring concert. We were much more limited in terms of budget, but I still think we were able to do some really cool, fun shit. Wasn't as wild as having an artist who was popping at Top 40 with a random punk or emo band supporting but still. I think the fact that the show is happening ~1 month after the main announcement makes it significantly less likely. That and the way Thrice has been touring the last few years just make it seem like they'll do this and that'll be it. Could be a second-wave add but I'm definitely not betting on or expecting it.
That’s amazing. The most my school’s radio station did was just put on local bands. Which was cool and all, but I wish we got shows like that! My school also put on a spring concert every year, but it was always some pop or edm artist that is huge in the scene, but not someone I was familiar with. :/
Yeah, my school's programming board never put on anything cool. They did a show in the fall and another in the spring. Guster, Dane Cook, Carlos Mencia, Third Eye Blind, Lloyd Banks, and 112 were what we had over the years. We did get a Dashboard Confessional and Yellowcard co-headliner my senior year (spring 2006), which I would have gone to but... I had Green Day tickets that same night. Haha. The radio station-sponsored shows, though, were really great. And it's like, a life highlight looking back on the line-ups we put together... 2003: Allister 2004: Onelinedrawing with Murder By Death and Bear Vs. Shark 2005: The Bouncing Souls with the Explosion, the Loved Ones, and Let It Burn 2006: Say Anything with A Wilhelm Scream and Patent Pending Walter Schreifels played guitar with Jonah during the OLD set in 2004; none of us understood how cool that was at the time. The Bouncing Souls and the Explosion both agreed, and then the Souls asked us if we could add the Loved Ones and Let it Burn to the bill "as a favor."
