That's a fair point! But it is countered by their "meh" feeling toward nostalgia, etc. I don't think there's any arguing that AITA is their most popular record in the zeitgeist. It's the album most (all?) Thrice fans love and the one the people who stopped by when "emo/screamo" was huge and don't know any of the other stuff are most likely to know and enjoy. So yeah. There's definitely demand for it! Do they want to give into said-demand, though? I kinda hope they do! That record is so great and probably the only thing that could get me to pay money to see Thrice again short of a Illusion tour. Haha.
Two German Festivals Drop Pantera From Lineups After Other Artists Express Concerns I don’t think they would be dropped from US festivals but they’ve been speculated (briefly) to Riot.
Well folks, I just booked my Airbnb so I'm locked in for another damn year. Def recommend just doing it if you're thinking you're gonna go, we got a place for like 40% cheaper than when we booked last year and it's nicer and closer than that one. Got a place with free cancellation until the actual fest so if things change/we find a cheaper place it's no big deal. I'm sure it's easier if you have a smaller group, but finding a place for 6 people was a huge pain last year when we started looking around May. That said, I can't wait to see Op Ivy in like 9 months!
I think they are trying to see if they can move out of Douglass Park but either way they have confirmed dates and probably most of the lineup booked.
Even though it's a pile trash for the most part, the Bamboozle lineup has some people I'd like to see at Riot. Finch, Saosin w/ AG would be great for me - though I think we knew they were a viable option before this, just makes it more likely.
Can this please be the last mention of Bamboozle in the Riot thread. Thanks, What's left of my sanity
This is my jam. Europe always crushing it with these lineups Blows my mind how popular bowling for soup is in europe/uk
Yeah, BFS is huge in the UK for whatever reason. I think they typically pull in large theaters/arenas, yeah? The thing that stuck out to me, is that they once toured the UK and Simple Plan was their opener. Not a co-headliner, but SP opening for them. That blew my mind at the time
Saw on fb that a rob zombie, Alice Cooper, ministry,& filter are announcing a tour this week. I could see riot taking in that whole show if it goes that late into September, but could easily just be a standard amphitheater thing
Wow. That sounds like a fun tour. I’d be down to hit that up if it comes near me. Crazy to see Ministry billed above Filter too. But I know they’ve had a resurgence of popularity the past few years, so it makes sense
I honestly have no idea who the headliners could be this year. Feels like it's gonna be a repeat year, unless they can pull some magic and get The Cure or something
