Parkway are in that weird situation like Bring me The Horizon where they are way too big for any sort of club tours, but arenas will all be half full at best.
If true (I don’t buy it but if it is), I will be as far away from it as possible (Pantera not Postal Service)
Id like to think (hope) Bauhaus might tour North America in 2023 and reschedule their appearance at the fest
Would absolutely lose my shit. That'd be worth literally taking a Lyft at like 7 PM and just going for the headliners.
Fall Out Boy, Green Day, and the Cure seem like a very reasonable set of headliners! I would be all about it. With Fall Out Boy, though, I do think it kinda depends on the approach they want to take with marketing the next album, I could also see Fall Out Boy taking a direct support slot at Lolla instead of a headlining slot at Riot Fest... Even if it's not a "pop" record it might make more sense. I'm assuming NOFX will be headlining a stage again (probably Roots; directly before whoever headlines) with all of the bands on that stage being curated/picked by Fat Mike.
For those keeping score at home: I think it's safe to rule out a good chunk of the regularly requested, younger ska acts this year. We Are the Union, Catbite, Kill Lincoln, and Bad Operation are all playing Chicago in July.
Yeah, that tour is killer! And I'm actually an idiot. Haha. These bands were out, anyway, as they're all playing Supernova Ska that same weekend. Also more than likely ruled out: Fishbone, the Suicide Machines, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, the Pietasters, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Planet Smashers, and the Toasters.
It's possible bands could play one fest on Friday and the other on Sunday but I doubt it will be more than a few at most J Navarro's other band is playing Supernova, so I'd consider Suicide Machines very very unlikely PEARS are probably out too since one of the members is in Bad Operation Foo Fighters are teasing a return, but I think they are too big for Riot or you'll get overcrowded chaos like for MCR last year
