The Smile? (Radiohead side project) They are working on their second album and could fit in in the same way The Voidz and The Raconteurs did. (We can’t get their main band so we will book the side project) Radiohead fans are pretty dedicated so it would also be a guarantee to get people in the park (or wherever Riot is held) for that day.
The Smile seems more like a Pitchfork get to me, but I certainly wouldn't complain if they were at Riot.
If The Strokes release a new album next year I would love them and think they would be a possibility.
I believe they’ll be active next year too. They have that fest in SLC lined up. Since they were in Chicago this year opening for the Chili Peppers, I think them as a headliner makes sense
I could go either way with Pavement. Meaning, I could see them as a Pitchfork headliner or a Riot sub. They'd be a stage closer... But definitely not top three. Maybe if it were their first show back or something like that. But they've already done a full US tour, etc. I could see them closing Roots just before the main headliner (with Death Cab on Roots before them; actually, that would work perfectly TBH).
so i made a list the acts i, as of now, want to see the most in 2023 and will go the fest that can snag the most of them, which riot could do! so far sick new world is in the lead. -Postal service (no fest yet, but riot likely) -joan jett (no fest yet that im aware of) -Head automatica (furnace fest) -Finch (when we were young) -Kittie (sick new world) -spiritbox (sick new world)
sorry if this has been mentioned before, we know we got dates but its funny the riot team is doing their best to quell our fears, haha
TBH, I don't really trust it. Maybe that's not an official announcement from Riot Fest. Maybe Riot Mike just got really stoned and is making decisions on his own without actually telling anybody else in the organization and then two weeks from now the Twitter person will be like "LOL JK that was just Mike goofing around. It's not actually happening."
Dont know where else to post this, but is Rise Against big in Germany? I find it weird to see them headline Rock Am Ring, a festival whose past headliners includes Foo Fighters, RHCP, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Rammstein and Green Day
Honestly, Friday in general seems like a downgrade compared to the other two days. I think that's the idea, maybe?
Yes, which is why its wild that Fever 333 is that high. Over Yungblud, Flogging Molly, Meshuggah, Motionless in White, etc.
Also Fever's font is bigger, meaning midtier status. Its the same font size as Turnstile, Incubus and NOFX
