https://www.theringer.com/music/202...service-give-up-20th-anniversary-tour-history just read this and while i had heard most of the lore, it was still a fun read and got me friggin stoked for next weekend.
Schedules have yet to be updated with the new additions. Also riot fest hasn’t even said anything about who got added/dropped. All they did was post a new fest poster with the new names on it
Have they posted a map for this year yet? I can never remember if Rise or Radical is the one by the food.
I absolutely do this anytime I have a conflict or am considering splitting sets. It is incredibly useful when I really only care about seeing one song or so from a band. I have been able to leave a set of a different band around the time that song would be played and then go back after they are done with that song.
I do it every year. I would say it probably worked about 75% of the time. I only recall one time where I missed something that I really regretted missing.
i do it pretty regularly, the 2 times it worked perfect were a few years ago when against me and streetlight went head to head, and then again at lolla in 2014 with eminiem vs arctic monkeys - it worked out perfectly that the 2 of the first 3 Artic monkey songs were my favorite ones and also that eminiem started with 3 or 4 songs i didnt care about at all but then busted out all the bangers there on after also this looks awesome, hope this or something similar happens at riot https://consequence.net/2023/09/the...r-cutie-cover-depeche-mode-enjoy-the-silence/
Tbf the AM! one was particularly easy because they just played Re-inventing Axl Rose and Transgender Dysphoria Blues in order, front to back lol Still mad at myself for leaving SM 5 minutes too late and missing the TDB title track.
Little Plastic Castles has had a handful of my favorite tunes from her when she comes up on my riot playlist, but i am pretty new to her as well. came out in 98 and sounds very of the time with contemporaries like jewel or lisa loeb
You can't miss Quicksand - especially the album play! on a serious note - live shows on youtube is probably a good place to start?
I listened to Slip yesterday for the first time. I liked but didn't love it, and I actually saw a partial Quicksand set in 2013, so they're a little lower priority for me, especially if I fall in love with an Ani or Screaming Females album in the next week or so.
Also, early prediction, but Fall Out Boy doing B-markets in the spring sets them up nicely to headline next year.
screaming females and then catching the end of Ani is what im doing, SF are my most anticipated for friday, they rule, and marissa is one of the best singer/shredder combo artist around! Screaming female songs to start with are Glass House, Ripe, Ill make you sorry, & black moon
