I bet Blink does another US tour next year for sure. This year was a “yeah! We’re back!” sort of thing that hit up all the big markets. Next year it’ll be in support of the new album and will hit up fests and B/C markets missed this year
Yeah, I think it's gotta be Blink for '24, and the nurse's outfit makes me think it'll 25 years of Enema. That's the only reason the costume makes sense.
I could see Blink being announced for next year too, but I don’t see why they’d do an Enema play. They did that tour for it in 2019 already, and already played it at Riot that year too. Plus, it seems weird to do it while trying to support a new album. You’d think their focus would be on that?
Announcing next year's bands before this year's fest is not very smart. It can hurt this year's sales and it makes no sense to do it now when you have so much time.
It might also be a Metro show on Thursday before the fest or even an announcement about some sort of collab with RF for their annual holiday shows
I'm not convinced it'll be an Enema play for this reason. But Tom being back in the band changes things... Because he didn't get to do it last time around. Excited to see what it is, regardless! I mean... They announced the Misfits around the same time in 2021, if I recall correctly. It won't hurt this year's sales and would be a good way to get people stoked for next year. Blink would be a strong "start" and would undoubtedly kick-off pre-sales pretty nicely because a Riot Fest ticket is cheaper than a lot of people paid for Blink tickets alone, I'd gather.
Somewhat related. I finally took at a look at the track list for the Dookie 30-year re-issue coming out next month and I am super hyped! I really hope a Dookie tour happens next year or at least a handful of shows. Riot really needs to get them!
Similar to the Blink/Enema thing... I don't see a Dookie tour happening next year. But I could definitely see them doing it (unannounced) on a smaller run of shows like they can tend to do ahead of an album's release. I can like see/hear it in my head. Them opening the set with whatever two new singles they have out at the time back-to-back and then Billie announcing they were about to play Dookie from front to back. Haha. Then they do Dookie and a 12-song encore. That's how they'd do it probably. Could also see it being an album play at a festival or two.
First time I’ve ever wanted my car service to last longer than an hour so I can sit here and look at it before running errands for work lol
Pool Kids, Free Throw, Oso Oso, and Origami Angel being so early in the day is a bummer wish they were later
A few of these would suck for me if I were going. The Breeders/Braid conflict would blow. Same for Death Cab/Bungle/ICP
Biggest bummer for me personally is Pinkshift and Origami Angel. Other than that, I'm really not upset with this at all.
