Foo Fighters won’t be that bad, they’re on like every lineup this year and their current demand, while still high, is not the same as MCR’s return demand was.
Foo shouldn’t be that bad, I don’t think. The thing that made MCR unbearable was that it was a reunion set so there was tons of demand/hype. Foo is actively touring this year and seem to have confirmed they will be for the foreseeable future While FF is big, and while people are stoked for this new era, I could see a lot of fans having the “I’ll pass this time and catch them next tour” mindset
Foo Fighters will be nothing like MCR. MCR was supposed to reunite in 2020 and then had two years of pent-up demand as a result of the pandemic. That was truly a worst case scenario.
It's just as much about "energy" as it is "draw." I think you'll have just as many people there just to see Foo Fighters as you had for My Chemical Romance. But I think you'll have fewer people trying to camp out at that one stage all day to be as close as possible. And given that it's a Friday, I wouldn't be surprised if the festival feels pretty "regular" until early evening. I expect a certain segment of fans won't show up until later.
There was a 10 year build up to My Chemical Romance's return to Chicago. Foo Fighters has been touring consistently for years and years, and while obviously popular, let's be real, their fanbase is older and not going to be as ravenous or crowdsurfing/pushing/moshing that hard.
If i can just stack up Friday and Saturday and skip Sunday again i'll be content lol. Things looking good on that so far.
Hoping we get some more information for with the daily lineups, maybe full album plays? I know it's way too early for aftershows
It’s so weird being a stones throw away from Chicago but being in Eastern time not Central time. Every time they tease something at 10, I get my hopes up and check their Twitter an hour early. You’d think I’d learn my lesson but I never do
Are you in Michigan or Indiana? I'm driving up to Kalamazoo tomorrow work and the time change keeps messing with my head
I'm really stressed about conflicts on the first line of Sunday but aside from that, they did a good job spreading it all out for me.
I can see a Friday stage with Say Anything, Bayside, Silverstein and Hawthorne Heights. Also, AFI opening for The Cure, please More importantly, still no Gwar nor TBS
Oragami Angel & Oso Oso are basically playing the US & Japan in the same day.. dunno how that will work Kim Gordon is probably gonna be part of the Tegan.Sara and Ani Difranco stage
