Riot Fest provisional approval is on the agenda for Wednesday: https://chicagoparkdistrict.legista...573&GUID=962458E6-1411-4EC5-8DD8-4097800B5F1F
Chicago Park District board has final say in the event. This means that the necessary steps have been completed per the new process and they’ll discuss (and likely approve) the permit for Riot Fest.
They only hold meetings once a month. So if re:set is gonna happen it’s gonna have to be a very last second add. If it’s not added I’m guessing it’s not happening cuz I’m sure they need like a week for set up and what not
They can add an off cycle meeting but it seems very prescribed when it comes to doing so. I’m like 90% confident it’s not happening. If they start setting up without permission they’ll get shut down fast.
Now, imagine you have to borrow money from the lead singer of 90s rapcore band E-Town Concrete to pay part of this fee.
so they have to be under the assumption that anyone buying presale single days is A) buying for the headliners B) schedule stalkers like us and would buy for an undercard act that hasnt officially announced which day C) someone who would normally go all 3 days but cant this year so just going the days they can no matter what but most of that has to be all group A.....b&C have to be really small EDIT - They basically said as much in a FB comment
friday is already up to $125 and they are back down to 90. i wonder if they werent supposed to jump like that or whats going on
I know it’s a different economy now and it was already an insane deal back then, but I can’t believe I pre ordered my 2019 3 day pass for $99.
Given the headliners for Friday and Sunday it makes sense that they would release single day tickets ahead of the full line-up. There are plenty of people who will want to go for just Foo Fighters and/or the Cure who won't hesitate to drop $90... They're clearly targeting an outside demo beyond their usual core with this move (and those artists). And those single-day tickets are a really, really fair price all things considered. You would quite easily pay a similar amount to see either of those headliners on their own.
I went over the lineup 10+ times and I just realized that Empire State Bastard are on there. That's a new project by Biffy Clyro's Simon Neil.
Oh yeah the single day passes are a steal considering it’d cost that much for good seats at a Foo or Cure show. Them with added bands thrown in make it well worth it
