I'd love to see a deal where next Tuesday at the eve6/watu Chicago show that they do some pro wrestling/andy kaufman type whacky angle where eve 6 threaten to release the lineup if they aren't added they get added.. and release the lineup anyway!
To be fair, they did basically disappear from like, 2003-2020. You had to really be looking for them. It's pretty easy to ignore them now too, if you really want to, TBH. Sorry your 17+ years of being Eve 6 free have been interrupted.
I just tune the Eve 6 guy out these days. It was cool at first to be a little self aware and have some fun, but he is simply online way too much. But to be fair, I think that’s a lot of band people these days as well. I like the bands that just post the pertinent information haha.
Same. I started following him because he was funny and his self-awareness was refreshing. I unfollowed a few months ago and its been so nice to only think about him when the heart in a blender song comes up on my 90s playlist.
Hmm… CHAI have just announced a North American tour with no Chicago date. But the first date of the tour is September 18th at Primavera Sound in LA. Maybe they’re in play? Chai Add 2022 Tour Dates, Share Video for New Song “Surprise”
I feel like it would be weird to start in Chicago, fly out to CA and then back to the midwest. Not impossible... But feels strange to me.
Heard from somebody who recently spoke with someone connected with the band... Apparently the Menzingers will be playing. Unless this person was misinformed or outright lying to me. But I don't think that's the case.
ON THE IMPOSSIBLE PAST 10 year album play!! will it happen? no idea will Riot Mike ask them to do it? 1000%
All I can think about right now is when the Menzingers released "In Remission" as a single before Rented World came out and somebody on PunkNews said it sounded like "Eve 6 meets Finch."
Well I don't know if these are well accepted anymore, but here's my final lineup prediction. Some of this is very out of left field. But this year has to be different compared to the previous four years. There's not too many repeats either. I made the lineup as if Riot Fest were attempting to do their take on When We Were Young & Butt Rock festivals sprinkled in with Riot-y type bands. I'd be happy if I got 33% of this correct. Is this lineup even remotely possible? I think it's definitely affordable.
You're right! They do perform a few days before the mythical radius clause takes effect. I put them as a headliner because it's probably the only year Riot would ever book them and I'm "trying" to be different.
if op ivy were to do a reunion, they will not be billed 4th of their day, they are topline all the way.
