Even it was the early 2000’s, it still doesn’t make it any better. We are supposed to learn from our mistakes, not celebrate them in the name of “nostalgia”.

Just because the name comes up every now and again in this thread: Presidents of the United States of America still have no plans to get back together.

I'm still waiting for their album with Sir Mix-a-Lot to surface

I was thinking about them just the other day. I’m still so bummed they called it quits. They’re one of the few bands I’m legitimately upset I never got to see. I love their first album

nothing more than a hunch, but what about Arctic Monkeys as 3rd headliner? Life is Beautiful just announced dailies and they are Friday , and as of now, no other US dates, and through more googling found all of them still live in london. so based on the 'why would they come to the states for 1 show' theory, they may be a leading candidate. though tour announcement could also be forthcoming and wipe that theory away.

Man, I feel so lucky to have seen them - even if it was only once and part of a festival! Haha. It was a radio station-sponsored show with Death Cab, them, Bob Mould, and Amanda Palmer. Super fun show all-around.

I'm sure they'll get together and do something at some point. But it sounds like the main guy is focusing on a new solo project for now.

I feel like LiB would offer a headlining paycheck big enough to justify the trip. But still, I'm going to go ahead and assume they have a tour coming up. That would be a strong third for Riot that would bolster the younger crowd for the weekend alongside MCR.

Not sure what the likelihood is that they might actually play Riot, though. I know nothing about them as a band. Just that they're super popular with the kids and have some catchy songs. Haha.

Their first 3 albums would fit really nice at Riot with their more garage sound and fast riffs. Although on their last tour they didnt play much songs from those records

it's either YYY's/coheadliner with a band like Sunny Day or APC as their co-headliner etc, Jack White, SOAD, LCD or Op Ivy (not happening) as the third headliner (longer shots: FOB, the Cure, Paramore).. (even longer shots: No Doubt, Paramore).. those are literally the only bands left.. I have no idea how it's logistically possible with Trent's stage set up they could do LA on Saturday then Riot on Sunday

I was convinced Green Day was the Sunday headliner, so it's fair to say I don't know shit

Of all the ones you listed, I'd lean toward it being the Yeah Yeah Yeahs or LCD Soundsystem. Rare gets that are different enough from the other two acts they already have headlining.

Jack White is in play but would be a super weak choice given that he's touring all over this year; but I guess it's not all that different from them going with Beck a few years back.

I'm kinda feeling like they'd steer clear of SOAD and Fall Out Boy this year, simply because they would draw from a similar pool of fans as the two acts they already have.

Oh, and I really don't think SDRE is headliner level. They weren't billed as a headliner on any large festivals they played on the last run of shows they did and I'd imagine that hasn't changed. It's not like they've been garnering a ton of new fans over the last decade. But they could certainly be 2nd or 3rd line, depending... For context, when they did Primavera Sound in 2010 they were billed under the Pixies and Wilco. Soundwave that same year they were billed beneath A.F.I., Paramore, Alexisonfire, Taking Back Sunday, and Trivium.

Machine Gun Kelly is out. He's quitting rock music to get back into hip-hop because he needs to evolve as an artist and do what makes him happy.

It's almost like it was all a marketing ploy...

fuck that, they better play Songs from a Black Hole.. Jack White's sister in law was on like 3 songs so with Tenacious D likely, it makes sense

MGK just covering SOAD songs as the third headliner :P

Wild. I thought he was going to save pop-punk by upping the scene and getting tweens into Knuckle Puck. Oh well. Guess it's all up to Avril now.

I believe my friend andy was being sarcastic.. considering he typed that after crawling through 500 yards of shit smelling foulness just to make that post

If I was stuck on an island with one album, it'd probably be that one

Fuck this idiot and his nonsense..

and then I watched what I thought was an SNL skit, but it was really him sitting lethargic and trying to cover System of a Down

I hope Riot learns from this and doesn't book carbon copied manufactured punk that in the end.. isn't worth the trouble, but it seems like Avril will be on the lineup (which I personally don't care, I'll watch someone else..)
